Holiday Home in Ödeshög

This pretty little holiday home is set only 150 metres from the lake in the lovely residential area Visjön in Ödeshög. At the jetty the boat lies waiting for wonderful fishing or bathing expeditions. You enter the cottage via the terrace and step into an open plan living room and kitchenette. The living room is spacious, featuring a sofa suite, TV and wood-fuelled stove. Adjacent to it you will find the wonderful, glazed conservatory with it's enchanting view of the lake. The bedroom is large and features a comfortable double bed with a width of 180 centimetres. The bathroom contains a tiled shower area, a WC, and a wash basin. There is also a guest house with a bunk bed, perfect for the older children who might want some space and privacy. The garden is well kept, with a big lawn for the children to play on. A little gravel path takes you to the wonderful public beach, 150 metres from the house. It offers changing huts, changing rooms, climbing frames, a dock system with bath ladders, a sandy beach and a grassy area. Everything in excellent shape! Take the opportunity to take the boat out for fishing. You can buy a fishing license at the boat rental, only 400 metres from the cottage. The area offers a lot to do and the nature here is outstanding, with it's open landscape! One of Sweden's biggest lakes, Vättern, is only 5 kilometres away. The picturesque town of Gränna is only 30 kilometres away, offering charming little shops and restaurants. Gränna is known for it's stripy, hard candy canes, “Polkagrisar”, and you can visit the small factory and see how they are made. Why not take a day trip to the charming island of Visingsö? There you can take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage all around the island. Another great destination is the old, picturesque town Vadstena. Vadstena was once up for becoming the capital of Sweden, before Stockholm was chosen. King Gustav Vasa built a castle here in the middle ages and it still stands today, in excellent shape. There are also several beautiful old churches and a convent where the Birgitta sisters live. This is the town that Saint Bridget is from and it offers plenty of culture and historical sites. Vadstena is set right by lake Vättern and offers plenty of beautiful sights. Between Ödeshög and Vadstena you will find the ruins of the monastery Alvastra Kloster, set in beautiful surroundings right by the mountain Omberg. Omberg is well worth a visit for those who love walking in beech forests. If you enjoy golfing you mustn't miss Omberg's Golf and Resort, with it's 4,5 star golf course only 8 kilometres from your holiday home.In Hästholmen you will find a lovely harbour with diving, fishing, and a bathing spot. Another must-see is the very famous lake Tåkern, bird watchers from all around the country travel here. Welcome to this wonderful summer destination!
