A good play to stay near Tunbridge Wells

Overpriced dump, check-in was a nitemare not whats needed after a long day ...
Does not have a resturant as advertised
absolutley filthy ....hairs in bed,ripped pillow case stains on duvet,dirty mirrors the list goes on..
Save your money go somewhere else please,will never use again....

Thank you very much for your review. Yes, you are perfectly right as we have never had a restaurant for evening meals as clearly specified in all agents adverts. All the nearest restaurants are only from 1 minute to 5 minutes walks from our hotel. You could have requested a staff to attend to any concerns of your room there and then and be happy with our free service. But it was your decision to communicate to us on this platform now to rectify an issue while you were using the room. A bit too late isn't it?

The staff was very helpful, we ended up checking in much later than expected, but staff was very pleasant . All check innand check out instructions we explained well and easy to follow. The property was very clean ,plenty of linens .

We appreciated the efforts at recycling, the outdoor eating area, the chance to do some washing.
The room was too small especially for a four night stay. When we commented the ‘receptionist’ said that they had upgraded us from a shared bathroom which was not the case as we had booked an ensuite room. We received an email about paid parking but out booking included parking.
Reception over a telephone is not satisfactory.

Dear Geoff, thank you for your review. You never requested to see a member of a staff while staying with us although we saw pass you several times in the corridors. All your issues could have been looked into if you contacted us. We would be happy to see your requests 24hrs. Receptionist is 24hrs as we are the only hotel in the area that welcome guests 24hrs.

Thanks Albert for your review. If you would hvae contacted us there and then we would have come and dealt with the issue. Previously we have never had complaints regarding spiders.

The room was clean but very small for a double bed, the shower and toilet were built in to two corners of the room , which worked i suppose.
It was a cheap place to stay in the area we needed to stay in.
We booked in via an intercom telephone. This was unusual but worked ok.
The lady who booked us in waived the on site car park charge, and also the dog extra charge.
I would have challenged the dog charge being £23 ? for one night had she not just dropped it as she mentioned it over the intercom.
If we had to pay for on site parking AND the dog it would have been an expensive stay .
We payed £68 as we had some expedia points to use . If we had payed the standard price i think it would have been too much for the size of room .
I dont mind paying up to £10 extra for the dog, but could not see why there should be a charge for parking a car in site .
Oh, and our rooms window would only open an inch or two. There were instructons to open it further but they did not work. . It was a good job the weather was unusually cool for July!
The only staff member we met was in the morning when we were leaving who was very pleasant.

Thank you for your review. We are the only pet-freindly hotel in the area so the price we charge is considered reasonable by many of our guests. Regarding the window, we let our guests know both at check-in and in room information leaflet that should you have any issues with the room you need only call the on-site team and they will come and resolve the issue in less than 5 minutes.
