Hadley's Orient Hotel

Fördelar: Everything, but the location was the best

The staff was great, everything was very clean and the hotel is in an excellant location. A very short walk to Salmancia Market, 2 blocks to the waterfront, the ferry to MONA is very close, the best breakfast restaurant in Hobart is a block away, rental cars about 3 blocks, there is a grocery store also 2 or 3 blocks away. Also many excellant restaurants within a 2-4 block range. With all of this, it is a very quiet neighborhood.

Dear Janet,
Thank you for your glowing review highlighting how much you enjoyed your stay, especially our central location to Hobart's attractions.
We have a rich history of the property dating back to 1834 when the first stages of the hotel were built by convict labour. As a National Trust listed property we have been very careful to maintain the original features and such it is true that we operate a single lift, albeit older, in keeping with the Victorian style.
We hope to welcome you back upon a future stay.

Hotellet kändes lite gammalt och trött. Nyckelkorten fungerade inte, juicen var överjästvtill frukost.

We are disappointed to read you were not satisfied with your stay at Hadley's. The property is over 180 years old and is continually being restored, which is a staged process.
Part of the hotels' historic charm is that our refurbishments have retained the original aspects of the property whilst including modern touches which many guests appreciate.
We do hope our friendly reception team rectified your key card issues promptly for you.

Wonderful, comfortable, older traditional hotel. A bit dated because of it's age but it is in excellent condition with the charms of yesteryear. Elevator is small, stairs creek and electrical outlets are not standard heights above floor making some outlets unuseable. BUT location, location, location. Restaurant is great (get the fish chowder) bar is relaxing with great selection of drinks (try the gins). BUT the best was the service. Thank you front desk clerk Kitty. Your recommendations and help are much appreciated.

Dear Henry,Thank you for your kind words. Yes, at 190 years old we do have a few idiosyncrasies for our guests but that is part of the charm. We are looking into having our power points upgraded to cater to modern day needs. A fantastic old style hotel, we were made to feel welcome from check in to check out and at all points in between. Opted for daily breakfast which was top notch. As we stayed over Xmas we had the Xmas dinner which was fantastic and well worth it. Rooms were comfortable with air con and opening windows. The orient bar was well stocked and the staff were fantastic. Highly recommend anyone to stay here when in Hobart.
