I enjoyed the cleanliness.. However, in future please remind maintenanace and cleaning staff that it is not the responsibility of the newcomers to reset the alarm clock of previous occupants. The staff should reset and turn off all alarms, in our visit, the previous occupants had set the alarm clock to 3am, and of course we never knew it, and it went off, frightening us, adrenaline pumping and we never went back to sleep. please in future ensure staff reset/clear and turn off alarms!

Loved that it was within the Park itself - no need to come and go throughout the gate - and that things (restaurants/shops/attractions) in the 'Village' area were generally walkable or easily accessed by shuttle - and the Maswik was central to most of that. I had a WONDERFUL time at the Grand Canyon and feel fortunate to have stayed at the Maswik during my stay for many reasons. However....... things i didn't like: The property was old and well-worn looking overall and really needed to be totally updated. I learned that I was lucky to have stayed in the "new rooms" building compared with the rest of the guest rooms. Even then, the room was not particularly up to modern standards in the decor, furnishings, in-room amenities/ functionality. The public areas were also dated and well-worn. I got an overall government-run vibe from the appearance of the property and interactions with many of the employees. Also, the wi-fi/ internet was not working for the entire 2.5 days i stayed there - which interfered with a couple of very important business matters. The front desk staff however were VERY kind and helpful regarding this, although the repair was out of their hands. While this may sound petty, reason I mention all this is because of the cost of the room - approx $500/night. I AM happy i was able to stay there, but felt like it could have been better for the money.
