Courtyard by Marriott Rochester Brighton

This was my second stay at the Courtyard. Booked online for a brief weekend getaway. I had no problem getting a late check-in, two-night stay, room that I wanted (even an option of which floor I wanted to stay on upon arrival.) The hotel's newly renovated and clean. All of the amenities worked as advertised (ice machines, room thermostats, flat screen TV, hotel pool, etc.). The best thing I can report is that while staying at the hotel, I never had to think about being in the hotel. I had a relaxing weekend, worry free.

We were visiting friends near downtown but wanted a hotel that was a bit further from the hustle and bustle and would be a quiet, clean place to sleep. We got exactly that. The hotel was near many restaurants, had ample parking, and wasn't plagued by constant sounds of traffic and sirens (as our friends' apartments are). Climate controlled rooms, having everything clean, and a bonus third-floor room with a balcony made our stay that much more enjoyable. It was well worth the price, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is very close to the university. Recentlly renovated. All the people are very polite and friendly. There is one washer and one dryer, but they were always available. there are also a small pool and asmall gym. The rooms are big enough and there is wireless internet. When I wanted to print something (like boarding passes), it was for free.

The hotel was in a convenient location, in walking distance to 3 great restaurants, across the street from Monroe Community College. The hotel as centrally located near shopping areas in an upscale neighborhood. The downside was the pool was invaded by a dozen preteen boys on a field trip. Consequently, I was not able to enjoy the jazzuci the way I had invisioned and given the price I paid ($150 per night) I expected to be free of this kind of chaos.

On previous visits to Rochester, I have preferred downtown locations over the noisy airport area, but am increasingly finding that the downtown hotels are sold out or very high-priced. This hotel was a nice compromise--moderate price, squeaky clean, very quiet (at least on the weekend), and only minutes from downtown, arts venues and colleges. Staff was uniformly pleasant. The neighborhood is boring, but seems safe.

The Marriott in Rochester, NY was extremely nice. From the staff to the hotel itself, everything was great! I would definitely recommend it!
