Microtel Inn & Suites Plattsburgh

I had requested a NON-SMOKERS ROOM. My room was located on the second floor. As I got off the elevator the smell of smoke hit me immediately.. When I was in my room, the smell of smoke was awful. I called the front desk. And was told that the first and third floor were non-smoking but the second floor was mixed, smokers and non-smokers. I informed Brian that I had requested a non-smoker room and the smell was awful.

Set back from the road, very quiet, clean and comfortable. Not large but Well designed efficient room. Good internet availble and laundry available. OK continental breakfast.

We visited family for Christmas. We really didn't go anywhere to except to their homes. So didn't have time to anything else as we were only there for 2 days. Overall, we liked the hotel - it was quiet and clean.

Friendly staff, easy check in and very clean. Easy to get to and close to all kinds of shopping.

Was there for a family party in Plattsburgh and found the front desk staff to be very helpful. They provided us with anything we needed. Rooms were very clean. Housekeeping was efficient. Great location.

Me and my husband booked this hotel for 1 night because we wanted a little weekend getaway. We spent 1 night in Williston, VT (Friday), and 1 night in Plattsburgh (Saturday). We decided on this hotel because it was #1 on an advice trip website and reasonably priced. It also came with free Continental Breakfast. After staying at the Marriott first, maybe my viewpoint was biased. The room was "compact" small, but very clean, but everything about the room shouted "Motel Quality" especially the smell of the hotel sheets (but they were clean). I usually rely on the soap provided, but it smelled cheap. Also when I washed my hands, no matter how long I rinsed, I couldn't get the slippery feel away. My husband says it's the water, but I said it was the soap. I didn't even want to take a shower using the soap and water. (I was really apprehensive trying to put on my contacts with slimy slippery hands!). Staff was polite during check in, but not exceptional. Really nothing to brag about except they had free coffee and juice in the lobby. There was no coffee offered in the room. The bed was very bouncy springy (queen size), and I did not have a comfortable sleep at all. (Usually when you stay at a hotel you expect the room to be as good, or better than your room at home- but our bedroom at home was much better). I would not come back here, and I don't know why it was #1. I stayed at the Holiday Inn at Plattsburgh in the past, and I would have paid a little more to stay there again. In the morning, we missed breakfast (finished at 10:00am) so we were directed to a family run restaurant that wasn't good service or food portion.My husband didn't mind the place, but I did.

Located off a busy central street and easy to find, we found the Microtel Inn and Suites to be a great value for the money. The room was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The building seemed fairly new. The only negative thing I have to say is in regards to the continental breakfast. The hotel only offers mini muffins, bagels, bread for toast, juices, tea and coffee. Personally, I prefer a larger variety for the continental breakfast. So my overall review of this hotel is EXCELLENT!!

This was my first time staying at microtel, the room was very nice.Good value for your money i would recommend this hotel and would stay there again
