New Year's Eve
Very big hotel with lots of people at this time of year! Service at bar on 8th floor was very slow. Rooms were spacious and comfortable - sheets were soooo soft! Enjoyed the coffee maker in the room. We had the buffet on the 48th floor revolving restaurant/lobby and highly recommend it for a great view of the city! Reception, concierge, and restaurant waiters were pleasant and helpful. If you don't like huge hotels with many elevators and lots of people, don't come here. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it for the location and comfort.

NYC Family Getaway
The staff was very accessible and helpful. The location was fantastic as it is right in the middle of Times Square. The room was a good size for the four of us and considering it was NY the room was a comfortable living space. Not a lot of extras. The eighth floor restaurants had okay service and the food was delicious.

Long walk from hotel
Be prepared to do a lot of walking. And be prepared to wait 30 -45 minutes for a table at most restaurants.

Great Anniversary Getaway
Everything about the Marriott Marquis is perfect! We stayed there three years ago and weren't so happy, but they have fixed those prior problems and this trip was wonderful. They were VERY busy over the weekend, what with the Heisman Presentation and Christmas, but were able to handle the crowds quite well. Rooms and Restaurants are VERY nice!

"Juniors" across the street has a great breakfast for about 1/2 the price, just much busier and do not have the ambiance.

Poor Value--High Cost
Great location on Times Square. Amenities and service were on a par with the average mid-range facilities I have experienced elsewhere. Reserved king bed but got a queen; hair dryer inoperable; wi-fi was marginal. There are much better alternatives nearby.

Suprise Birthday trip
I suprised my wife for her 30th Birthday. THe Hotel was amazing! the location was just right for going everywhere. The people were so nice and helped with directions, calling cabs, and telling us places to visit.

Take the subway! If you can download a subway app! its not really safe holding a map (in certain areas.) But NYC is VERY SAFE!

Thanksgiving week stay
Decided to take my daughter for her first NY trip and thanksgiving week. My girlfriend and brother joined us we went with the NYMM because of the size of the room (2 double beds) and it worked out perfectly for us. The room was clean, good size, nice comfortable beds, we got a high floor which is key in NY as the streets are pretty noisy. The hotel has a great buffet, $31, great selection and really good..the hotel has a couple of bars, we went to the broadway bar that overlooks time square..had some wine and apps and we were satisfied. Keep in mind you are in the middle of time square so its busy once you walk out the door, but getting a cab is easy as they have doorman hailing cabs..I will definitely be back..
