Harlem YMCA

After booking for the 1st time we were very very skeptical about the cleanliness and the location. But the area was very safe and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. We were very surprised. The Staff was very friendly and helpful! I would recommend the YMCA to any travelers that are on a budget and don't mind sharing a bathroom.

I did not like this hotel at all. Everything looks very dirty and old, a lot of things broken, the hallways smell bad. It was a terrible time there, I wish I had never been there. 0% recommendable.

Only one bathroom for many on one floor. Bathroom doesn't have bolt. Toilets not equipped with liquid or solid soaps.

Good price, great location/area! We were 2 single girls & never felt scared or uncomfortable and we even came and went at very late times! We were very sceptical about having community bathrooms but everything was very clean! No complaints....to top it off the staff was very nice & helpful!! Our next trip we deffinitely stay here again!

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very courteous....They offered meal vouchers, show vouchers and taxi vouchers...at a discounted rate. I would recommend the Harlem YMCA to everyone. I plan to go there again...

The room so small.that just sleep.but the prize cheap~

I choose this hotel at the last minute because the one that I choose first cancelled my reservation. But despite to be located in a 'bad area' [being Harlem] I found it surprising nice at first sight and to be in a quite quiet street. The room was VERY small with no enough space for me and my luggage, but the small closet resolved that and the staff was nice, although it always took them time to pick the phone. The bed was so-so, that's why that it's only useful if you only use the hotel to have somewhere to put your stuff and sleep. Otherwise look for something else.

Women traveling alone or even with another female friend should not stay here unless you look like a body builder or He-man. Just needed a place to lay our heads for a last min booking, and thankfully we only stayed one night. The location was ok though. Near subway and short ride into Manhattan.

The ymca in whole was very clean the staff are very friendly u do have to share facilities u have access to a television n free wifi all in recreation room safe area I stood outside and it was 2:00am and I felt safe no complaints other than the room was to small and twin size bed great place to stay if on a budget oh there is a 24 hr ihop just across the street no space for two adults in room to sleep at allllll
