Berkshire Travel Lodge

Stayed here because it was the only semi-reasonable place available with James Taylor and the holiday weekend. Paid $100 for the night for a $40 room at best. Fridge and microwave were in good shape and much appreciated, but rest of the room badly in need of renovation. It was basically like camping inside, especially once the various summer bugs surrounding the lights got in. Convenient to Tanglewood, but if you need a late-night snack, food or groceries, nothing is nearby. No hair dryers or clocks.

REALLY BAD deal on this hotel, even for the price offered in this area.Firstly, I called to confirm late check-in at about 3PM and was told they were "overbooked & had a computer problem [...]" so my reservation was cancelled!! When I said I had prepaid [...], they said they would "try to accomodate me ~ call back in 10 minutes." [...]When I arrived there, I found the "Vacancy" sign was on and they were NOT full. [...]I was told to PAY for the room before I was allowed to check in, even tough I had a printed receipt for my payment/reservation [...]. They claimed I am supposed to "pay them [...]" and wouldn't give me a key unless I did so. [...] I wouldn't get a room after all this, and at 11:00 pm, in the middle of nowhere!!!The front desk clerk and his "boss" who was on the phone with him were not particularly helpful."NEWLY RENOVATED"...???? HAH!!!Reception area: average and musty"Breakfast" area: grimyRoom: small and mustyBath: tiny and grimyNO hairdryer in bathNO Coffee machine in roomNO Alarmclock/radio in roomNO Ironing board / clothes-iron in roomNO VALUE AT ALL... stay away from this one.

WE ALWAYS BOOK THROUGH THESE SERVICES AND PREPAY FOR THE ROOM AT CONFIRMATION, BUT STILL HAD TO PAY!!!"NEWLY RENOVATED????" HAH!! The rooms are small and dingy... bath looks dirty, previous user's trash in room was NOT emptied. I didn't want to even see the swimming pool after this!!!!NO phone, NO alarmclock, floors tacky, NO hair-dryer (ask for one from the desk!) NO clothes-iron/board or coffee-machine (same deal!)The snack area where breakfast and coffee are served is grimy, and the coffee is watery.Overall.. a very bad deal, even for the low price, and I still have to get my REFUND for the double payment.
