Hampton Inn Tropicana

The staff at the hotel was always helpful. Free shuttle bus to and from the airport as well as the Tropicana and Mandalay Bay (which puts you on the "strip"). Diagonally across the street from In and Out Burger if you like that kind of food.

My friend and I arrived around 4:30pm on Friday, driving from Los Angeles. Due to the weekend being 11/11/11, the rooms were getting packed quickly, so I wasn't able to get non-smoking, but my reservation was smoking with non-smoking being a side request. The room itself was very clean and the smell of smoke was so faint that it didn't even bother us. That, and the casino's have smoke it them anyway, so it didn't really matter about the room being a smoking room cause we knew we'd have that smell on us anyway. We stayed in a room that was next to an exit and the parking wasn't even an issue. I was able to park in a stall next to the exit door, so it make for quick access to my room...literally 15ft away, awesome! I loved that cause we didn't have to walk through a casino, then another lengthy walk through the parking lot (should we have chosen not to use valet) just to get to my car. It was super convenient! The bed was very comfortable and they had a great HD flat panel tv which had several HBO channels that I was surprised, but pleased to see. The hotel itself is located just across the 15 freeway from the strip, and the freeway entrance is prob about 100 yrds from the hotel which was awesome! It's literally a 1-2 minute drive to hit the strip (less then a half mile), and you arrive by the MGM and New York New York casinos as you approach the strip. This hotel is a great option if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of a casino, and avoid the valet and resort fees. I will absolutely stay here again, and will prob not ever stay at a casino unless the event requires I do so. This hotel is just too convenient! We loved it!

Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Superbequeme Betten und Kissen. Eher kleines Pool, aber immer genügend freie Liegen mit zur Verfügung stehenden Badetüchern. Frühstück wechselt Täglich und wird andauernd aufgefüllt. Tee und Kaffe in Lobby während 24 Std. gratis. Konnten am Abreisetag bis 16.00 Uhr das Zimmer haben!

Excellent business hotel 15 min. walk to the Las Vegas Strip, Excalibur, New York New York, MGM Grand, and many casino hotels. Free shuttle to/from the Strip (Tropicana Hotel & Casino) and the Airport. Big and tasty breakfast with many choices.

The hotel is just off the strip within walking distance of New York, New York, Excaliber, and MGM Grand. It has a small pool good to laze around when the temperatures were too hot. We used the hotel as a base and within a few minutes was at Bellagio, Venetian, Ceaser's Place etc. It has a free breakfast, WiFi and PCs in a business center. All in all a good place to stay while visiting the larger casinos for half their price during a weekend.

good location particularly if you have to return a rental car the next morning. good greeting at the hotel. comfortable room /bed and great pillows. bathroom was a bit disappointing and the tub definetly needed to be redone.

No fridg which would be nice. Great staff and the shuttle service worked out well. Would recommend for those on a budget that didn't want to spend the price of the strip. Not a bad walk

Customer service needs a little more enthusiasm. Not very friendly. They were able to accomodate our request to check in early which was a fraction of the good part. Swimming pool was cold! Free breakfast was so disorganized i walked out of line because there was no staff to monitor, direct, or reassure their guests..our room was ok until we noticed the bed sheet at the head of the bed had multiple brownish stains! Then last but not least, the bathroom sink started making bubbly noises. I go into the bathroom only allowing the nauseating odor escape to fill up our room. Then the sink started shooting rust like material causing the smell to worsen. Front desk offered a room change. However i changed my mind because it was just annoying...they had no interest to assist with bags to relocate. Instead i was more than thrilled to check out early to stay in a hotel that can accomodate my needs while on vacation. I lost money with this reservation.....but i was on vacation, why would i leave stress at home to enter stress on vacation?? Awful!!

I travel extensively for my job and have always found Hampton Inns very nice for business needs. I've traveled to Vegas a few times both for business and vacation and stayed at several of the gaming casino/hotels over my many stays. It's fun the first few times to do that, but recently, I'd rather have a clean, smoke free room then the excitement. The Hampton Tropicana is perfect for that. The Hampton Inn exerience with internet access for the business person that is conveniently close to the gaming areas if I wanted to go there. The only thing I can complain about is that this hotel did NOT have small refrigerators in the room. That's crazy when you can't have a cold soda in the room waiting for you. The lack of wireless Internet is also a little bit of a let down, as well. Why Vegas does not have more wi-fi around through the various hotels is a puzzle to me, but seems that Vegas is NOT set up for wireless technology anywhere....shame really, but maybe they are worried about cheating the house in the gaming casinos. I had a good time and the room was clean and quiet when I was ready for a break from vacation activities.

this hotel is very close to the strip.its clean,breakfast is very good.staff is friendly. my kids loved the pool,not over crowded.air system in the room is kinda noise but overall very happy and will recommend to people.
