A good way to relieve the tensions of the day is to take a swim in the crystal blue waters of the luxury pool or relax at the Jacuzzi. Perfect timing
While we were there we planned activities (snorkeling, surfing and massages) for the first few days and left the last few days for sitting in the sun, shopping and a luau dinner. By the end of the trip we felt well rested and ready to see our dogs again. This trip felt perfectly timed, starting with on-time flights and easy check-ins at the airport, car rental and hotel. The hotel is about two minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from Kapa'a where you will find lots of food and shopping, and it is midway between snorkel tours in South Shore and surfing at North Shore in Hanalei Bay.

Short drive from hotel
Hotel food and bar can get expensive fast as can the good restaraunts. There is a Safeway in town, we picked up snack foods and liquor.

Oustanding getaway!
The hotel was fantastic, location great close to almost everything, hotel's staff very cool, room very clean and hotel environment magnifique!

Good Value
Very clean and nice staff. We had an ocean view. Affordable on-site restaurants and close to shopping. Rooms are not very big, but still a good value.

Kauai Beach Resort a.k.a. Aqua
This is a nice older hotel with nicely updated rooms and interior (each room has a small refrigerator). The pool area by the ocean consists of five smaller pools and two hot tubs, and is surrounded by nice landscaping (palm trees and waterfalls). The beach is a strolling beach (you can walk for miles once you cross a small creek), the beach is not for swimming, there are rocks in the water that make swimming hazardous. The hotel is surrounded by green areas, so it feels like the resort is the only thing around, although it is only about 4 minutes from the Lihue airport, and is very centrally located for all the activities the island has to offer. The staff is friendly, and the resort offers small free extras like yoga, hula lessons and happy hour shows. We only have one regret, we wish we had spent a few more nights. :)

Wonderful time
Hotel staff was pleasant and gracious. Grounds were beautiful. Food was very good but pricey. Charge for parking your car was out of line. The pool was not heated but from what we found out none were.

Great stay!
Great location! 4 pools great for children and adults. Daily happy hour and every first Thursday of the month they have a wine tasting in the hotel.

Kauai Beach Resort
The concierge was wonderful! I booked several tours/trips through the concierge and each one was quite good. The resort has done a decent job of trying to "go green". My only complaint is the cost of dining at Shutters - the on-site restaurant - it was very expensive.
