Hawaaiian travelers
Great hotel for family trips with kids
Our experience was very good considering it rained during most of our trip (4 out of 6 days). The hotel has plenty of lounge chairs and pool area. It's location to the beach was great for boogie-boarding or cliff diving. We only tried Stevenson's Library one night, but spent most of the evenings having dinner in town. This hotel had many facilities catering to kids, which we do not have. Their adult pool was nice, but the front desk had many of the surrounding rooms occupied by families with small children (lots of crying). However, it was peaceful for the most part.

We had dinner at Roy's up the street, which was okay for the price. But we found that a little ways up the street was a Hawaiian-Mexican tiny taco shop that had excellent fish and shrimp burritos.

The staff and residents of Kauai could not have been any happier we were there, at least that how hard they tried to please every detail on our vacation. It was the best I ever had and I've been on at least six cruise ships and twelve islands in the pacific and west indies

Amazing staff and location
A spot right on one of the beautiful Poipu beach. The staff was delightful and friendly with plenty of amenities. Food was great. A perfect getaway hotel.

There are 3 local watefalls, one of which requires a hike. The other two can be driven to but really aren't worth the trip.

We had a great time staying at the Grand Hyatt. The staffs were so nice and really helpful. The hotel was clean and nice in a great location. We hope to go back for our next vacation soon.

Not the 5-star experience I expected
The hotel is beautiful. It was always clean and orderly. However, part of what makes a hotel a 5-star hotel is the people. The service was really nothing I would brag about. When I arrived, registration thought their conversation was more important than checking me in and that mentality seemed the flourish throughout the property. In addition the price for food was very high: room service, food by pool, restaurants within the hotel, etc. in comparison to the area. I have been to Kauai before and had a much better time in Princeville.

Best Vacation Ever!
The Grand Hyatt is truly one of the most beautiful resorts that I have ever visited. The food and especially the fish were outstanding. We will definitely be returning to this fabulous locale again and again.

Perfect Honeymoon
I was blown away by how wonderful this hotel was from the moment we were greeted at our car with leis. The stunning open air lobby was beautiful with views right out to the ocean. The staff were so warm and friendly. The pool areas, lagoon, slide, and spa were thoroughly enjoyed, the grounds were beautiful & impeccably maintained and the restaurants were all delicious! The prices are high, but I would still recommend this place & would love to go back. You will not regret a stay at this property - the service is spot on in every way!

In Hotel
Yum Cha is a fabulous restaurant at the Poipu Bay Golf Course clubhouse. You can get take-out, but we dined in. The restaurant is a short walk from the main hotel area, but you can get a shuttle ride if you'd like. The food was absolutely delicious! We also LOVED Dondero's!
