Hotell i Gainesville

Staff were very accomodating and helpful. Room was clean and nice location. Pool was not available while we were there and I am not sure why. We were not permitted access.

I think the customer service is not up to the standard of the hotel. Put simply, the only thing out of place here is the customer service.

Our room was convient to parking and had a patio overlooking a lake. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and a cup of coffee in the morning. We had dinner one evening in the hotel restrauant. We had a sea food sampler. The shrimp was over cooked and cold as was the lobster, which had the texture of rubber. We were not at all impressed with the food. Not well prepared and overpriced.

Free Wi-Fi. Pool and a restaurant. Oh, they have a shuttle that will take you to and from the University or airport. I did not have a mini fridge but I survived.

This hotel did the job. It's cheap, it's old, it's about 2 1/2 miles from UF. Did I mention that it's cheap? So anyway, if you need a very basic room at the lowest possible rate - look here. It does have a pool and a small "playground" and the refrigerator/microwave in the room was a nice touch. Still, we were pretty sure the blankets/comforter were NOT washed in between stays - we pulled those off the bed. The room was a nice size and even had a balcony and vaulted ceiling (2nd floor). The soap holder in the shower was broken and had sharp edges, and the sink was not exactly dirty - but VERY dated and rust-stained (there was a second sink outside the bathroom). There was an industrial-strength toilet in the room that flushed very loudly. The staff was friendly. It was completely quiet both nights we stayed. If all you plan to do is sleep in the room a few hours and don't want to pay for amenities that you might find at more upscale places, this place might suit you. Next door to Checkers and McDonalds and across the street from a Walmart - as mentioned, a short drive to UF.

I booked this hotel last minute for a trip to University of Florida in Gainesville. The price was unbeatable, and while the accommodations were modest, the staff was exceptional. The location was great for visiting UF (10 minutes from Gainesville airport, 5 minutes from main campus). For a cheap, clean last minute stay right near campus, it can't be beat.

The room was more than adequate for the money and wonderful location. However, the absolutely BEST Breakffast we've ever encountered as part of the price of our accommodations. Fabulous variety, coulldn't believe it. Your staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it.

I booked this hotel for my child's graduation and was completely satisfied. The rooms were nicer than I expected, recently renovated and very clean. The breakfast was very good also. After a recent trip to two similar hotels, this was a wonderful surprise especially since it was the only room I could find at the time. I would definitely stay here again.

Old motel =not very clean Race weekend overcharged

A very run down place to stay. Bed compaired to sleeping on a piece of plywood. Will never stay here again.

I understand the hotel was older and that was ok, but my carpet was clean in areas, it needed shampooing very bad, but the main area I did not care for was I had to go to Wal-Mart to buy some air freshner, the room had a horrible old and wet smell, I purchased two air freshner and a can of Frebreez to air out the room, I could not sleep with that smell. I don't think I will be staying there again, good price, bad smell. Plus the door had a little opening in it and love bugs were in my room ,a couple on my bed, on the ceiling, on the floor in the restroom).

The staff was very nice and friendly but the hotel is really OLD, needs tons of maintenance and renovation. The pool was closed and it seems it'll never be reopen. The lobby was dark and musty. The bedroom smelled old and humid , not good for allergies. Overall, the place was ok for one night but couldn't take more than that with the bathtub overflowing and stained sheets and comforters.

This is a Motor Hotel from right out of the past. It's an older facility that reflects a time gone by. You wouldn't know by the pictures, but the rooms open directly to the parking lot rather than the current style where access is obtained through an interior corridor. There weren't many guests the night we stayed there so it was quiet, something that we value. Sometimes these types of motels can be noisy places with slamming car doors right outside your room to wake you in the morning, but this was not the case this time around. We found the room to be clean and in decent repair. Even though this was an older facility, it has been decently maintained. Tap water in the room was drinkable. The bed was large and comfortable. The air conditioner was mounted low and fairly close to the bed but it worked well and was quiet. The mini fridge worked but appeared unable to maintain a very cold temperature which some people prefer. An unusual feature of the room we were in were the liquid soap & shampoo dispensers in the bathroom & sink areas. No bar soap here or those little plastic bottles you find nearly everywhere else. Not a bad feature, actually. The bathroom was a little on the small side and reflected an era where people were not "supersized". A large person might have a little trouble with the toilet. Again, the tub & shower areas were well maintained and in good condition. The bathroom door stuck a little in its frame & would have been difficult to close completely. The CRT TV reception was mostly good with the exception of one or two channels. Wi Fi worked well but required a password which you obtain at the front desk. Our room did not have a hair dryer, but supposedly they are available upon request from the front desk. We stayed here during the last week of February and the pool did not appear to be open. If you want the local Gainesville paper, it is available for about half price at the front desk. This motel appears to be operated by an Indian family, (from India) something that we have noted in other parts of the country during our travels. We did not have any problems communicating with them and they seemed to be pleasant folks. All in all, the guest experience here was OK. You are not dealing with the "latest and greatest", and that is reflected in the price. If you are wondering what traveling was like in times gone by, this is a good place to experience what it was like.

Stayed one night for attending class at UF. Had a working TV and A/C. Not too bad, and worth the money. Bathroom was clean, and the shower was nice. Overall, a good hotel.

I stayed here for a week to attend an on-site UF elective. Overall it is a clean and comfortable place and gets the job done. The a/c and heat work well, the bed and sheets were clean, and the bathroom was clean. Definitely worth the money.

The mattress on the bed could have been more comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay. We had quick easy access to I-75 North or South bound, which allowed us explore the surounding area. We enjoyed the free breakfast provided daily with a good variety options.

Hotel was near a lot of restaurants, shopping and very close to UF. Not much to the hotel for the price. I've paid less for equal. Breakfast was good and staff made sure quantities remained stocked and fresh. Good for a quick stay. Just off I-75 so really convenient for traveler's overnight stop. Staff ok but not overly friendly.

This was my second stay here. Friendly hotel employees. Breakfast was good. I would like to have been able to have a cocktail in a small bar in the hotel.

University of Florida graduation (excellent location)

To Start off, I booked this hotel online, and after arriving, the Front Desk informed us that we could have got the room CHEAPER 80b a night, if we had known about the SHANDS Hospital Discount, which was where we were going... But since I had booked it online, they couldn't change it for the Discount, UMM OK??? REALLY? I normally stay at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, and they always change me to discount rates if available... The Hotel was Average and Clean, only other problem was the rooms Sofabed... It didn't have any linens on it, or pillows and there were none stored in the rooms closet, had to track the staff down to get that... So, GOOD LUCK, Next customer...

Great location. Room was right next to an ice maker so every time someone got ice I could hear it.

It was clean, staff was friendly and answered all questions i had. next time i go to Florida, i will def be staying at that hotel.

My experience at the Residence Inn was excellent. Despite the the close proximity to Interstate 75 which created traffic noise, the staff, amenities, and room comfort and cleanliness made up for the traffic noise. Both nights of my stay, the staff provided beverages and food from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. Jane was an excellent cook and host and deserves a raise. I truly felt like the staff made me feel comfortable and at ease while I eas away from home!

Because we booked on this web site they would not honor the no smoking room. They blamed it on the site and that they were full. The room was extremly smoking and was practically on the interstate. Sounded like the truck were coming through our room. The room was clean other than the smoke smell.

One night only in the area to meet with a family member. Great choices for dinner not far from the hotel. Quiet and secure area. Great rooms.

Booked the room during the Florida Tennessee football game. Game day weekends, most hotels jack up prices ridiculously. So this was a great value relatively. However, I booked a non smoking room only to get one that smelled like an ash tray. Horrible. The very nice front desk woman stated a non smoking room is only guaranteed if you book directly with hotel and not with Orbitz, and told me I would know this if I read the fine print on Orbitz's website. Nevertheless, she offered to Febreeze the room and change the comforter and blanket. That helped a lot. Still, fter returning home all our clothes smelled like the smoky hotel room. Have to call Orbitz. It is misleading to expect to get a nonsmoking room and then not.

I´ve been here many times. Its an average decent extended stay hotel. I realy like being able to cook for myself and there is a great supermarket and other stores very close by. TVs in the rooms are however really small and outdated (tubes), a dishwasher would be a real plus. The beds are really hard, but all in all its a decent place for its price. This last trip the price was outrageously high due to the Gator game.

My friends and I traveled to Gainesville for a football game one weekend. When I tried to check in the staff was behind the desk talking and made me wait quite a long time to check in. Then the woman who did help was rude to me, probably because of my age. I didn't think much of it because I didn't want to let anything ruin my weekend. The room was clean but the beds were hard as rocks. We all had two terrible nights sleep and the towels could only dry off a child. It was also impossible to keep the floor from getting wet while taking a shower, where I almost fell getting out. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the alarms of our neighbors going off all morning. The only good thing about the place was that it was clean but everything else could have been improved.

Good location for using Shands hospital, only down fall is the hotel would not switch us from 2 double beds to a king [...] Also room had slight smell. Clean motel though

The room needed some work. Burn marks in the comforter, the walls had cracks in the bathroom, the sink had an over spray when turned on.

It was what we expected for a motel 6. The room had been renovated so the shower/bath appeared clean, but the floor was dirty and I had serious doubts about the carpet and cover linen. We only had the room for about 9 hrs most of which was spent sleeping. We choose it for the location (close to everything) and vacancy (graduation weekend). There was a lot of traffic noise but that doesn't really bother us. Staff was nice and accommodating.

Stayed overnight for an event at the UF Arts Center. Front desk was helpful & courteous. I requested (and received) the last room facing 40th Ave - the quiet side away from I-75. Room was fine, good A/C. Shower was good, bed was comfortable. The hallway vending machines in these places are ALWAYS out of bottled water. Breakfast is included in these types of hotels now - a big help if you are on a budget or in a rush.

Great shopping and close to Shand's Medical Center. I will stay there again if I come back to the area.

The service and amenities were good for a hotel of three stars. The only thing I did not like was that the room was not vacuum properly.

The hotel looks far better now after the renovation (I stayed here 3 years ago when the place was old and dirty). The hotel is good for the price. The room was small but it had a clean shower, nice TV and a desk. My room faced the highway which was not a good idea. A more quiet room would have been better. The location is not that great if you are looking for dining or shopping. It is also further away from the university.

Rooms were clean and inviting and comfortable. All the amenities were nice. Didn't get a chance to get to the contemporary breakfast so I cant truly rate that . Staff were friendly enough. I would not hesitate to use this for an overnight or 2 at that price.

Innkeeper was efficient, business-like and accommodating. We didn't want a second floor room and he changed the room without complaint. The bed was very comfortable and up to our standards. The TV remote needed a battery or something because it was difficult to change channels without effort. The only negative was the "breakfast". Very meager so don't expect much. Overall, it was great for the one night we were there. We will consider staying there again.

This hotel wasn't spectacular, but gets the job done. I stayed two nights while attending weekend class at UF. The location isn't bad, and I didn't have to worry about my car being broken into or anything. The room was OLD, but pretty clean, with no (visible) bugs, etc. Furniture and bed were also really old. There was no shampoo provided. Room also had a fridge, microwave, and TV, but no alarm clock. For the price I paid, it was worth it, and I would be ok with staying there again in the future.

THE ROOMS WERE OLD SND NOT THE CLEANEST. tHE SHOWER TILES LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED IN MONTHS. BEDS WERE COMFORTABLE NO BLANKETS WERE PROVIDED. OVERALL WOULD NOT USE FOR A VACATION BUT JUST A PLACE TO LAY MY HEAD FOR THE NIGHT.
