Lovely small hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Super large comfortable room impeccably presented and clean, Copious and delicious breakfast pannier with a home-made cake among the goodies!. Not cheap but really good value. Highly recommended.

The staff knows how to deliver top notch customer service. Rita welcomed us warmly and explained in detail the amenities in the hotel. The breakfast basket is great. The location is excellent, walking distance to the beach and there are great restaurants around it. We definitely will be back.

Harbor House was perfect! We took the Amtrak Coast Starlight train from Portland OR and wheeled our luggage to the hotel - no taxi needed. Our great stay started the moment we arrived when we opened the door to the office and were greeted by the smell of baking banana bread just being pulled from the oven (the office's kitchen is next to the reception desk). Our suite was clean, comfortable and had every amenity we needed, and a welcome basket was waiting with all kinds of goodies including a loaf of the excellent banana bread . The hotel grounds are also nice with many places to sit and enjoy the flowers and hummingbirds, twinkling lights in the central palm trees, and other surprises like cruiser bikes to take for rides. The hotel is just off the beach and an easy walk to State St and many restaurants. We rented a car for the trip but really only needed it for a couple of days for trips out of Santa Barbara. Some people have mentioned that the parking can be tight, and that is true, but the hotel will also give you a pass to simply park on the street if you like. We loved this hotel and would be happy to move in permanently -- if you're waffling on which hotel to pick, pick this one!

I originally booked the hotel because of its location, price, and the free bike rentals. It turned out to be the perfect location to celebrate our anniversary. Because check-in time was at 3 pm and our train arrived at noon, it gave us plenty of time to check out the city. First we made a quick stop at chocolate maya, before heading off to Alice Keck park to have a picnic. After realizing that we had forgotten to pack lunch, we headed over to the Palace grill. After we finished with lunch we made our way to the hotel. Right when we got there the staff was super friendly and even upgraded us to a King suite. We get to our room and there is a complimentary basket full of goodies waiting for us. it included a yummy homemade loaf of banana bread, some biscotti, and a variety of juices. The room had a plush king size bed, big windows with great views, a homey design, and a kitchen that was perfect for preparing our romantic dinner. The hotel also offered free dvd's to check out, not to mention that it was only a block away form the beach and a romantic sunset.

convenient to all SB has to offer . . . spacious, well-appointed, tastefully-decorated room with fully equipped kitchen . . . traditional, one-of-a-kind atmosphere . . . pool/spa would have been nice but property size, in-town location makes this impossible - but less than a block from beach.

Great location - barely used our car over the trip. The room was a junior studio, but plenty of space for the 2 of us. The kitchen area had a small table and was fully stocked with plates, cups, utensils, and cooking equipment. We also used the complimentary bikes one evening. Walls are a little thin, although we only noticed it our last night there. Bring slippers - the tile floor was a little cold in the morning.

This is a great boutique-style suite hotel located just a block from the beach (near Stearn's Wharf) and a short walk to the shops and restaurants on State Street. We stayed in a junior-suite with a queen-sized bed, bathroom, and small kitchen area (microwave, fridge, sink, and dining table). The room was very clean. The only negative was that it smelled heavily of carpet deodorizer, but that was easily corrected by opening the windows. Included in our suite was a generous welcome basket with fruit juices, fresh fruit, treats, and best of all home-made banana bread! It was a fabulous location and perfect for a quiet romantic weekend getaway. Everything was comfortable, well-decorated, and the staff were super friendly. We highly recommend!

We were upgraded. So, when we arrived this was already a great start. We got the Queen Deluxe Studio, I think. I don't usually rent suites, so I was impressed. Nice charming bedroom with soothing, sunlight that comes through its window. I like the separate kitchenette area. Perfect size room for two adult people. I would select this room again.

This hotel greatly exceeded my expectations! The service was impeccable! Rooms were well laid out and extremely clean. Each room had a small kitchen with a delicious breakfast basket. For the money, this hotel was perfect.
