InterContinental MARK HOPKINS SAN FRANCISCO

Great location! Cable car stops nearby. The Top of the Mark bar at the top of the hotel has a great view of the city. Close to Chinatown and the Ferry Building Marketplace that has a lot of great restaurants, especially The Slanted Door!

We paid $162 per night, which is a great deal for San Francisco. (Beware of those $110 to $130 SF hotels, research the location & read reviews before booking). Parking was expensive, about $58 per night. I'm not sure what the average price for overnight parking is in the area - you might be able to find a cheaper garage nearby. The hotel was nice: beautiful lobby, clean rooms. The view from The Top of the Mark is amazing. The waiters were a bit slow, but everyone was friendly.

The InterContinental Mark Hopkins at Nob Hill is a stately, elegant hotel with great service, classic appointments, a "peak" location, and fantasticly comfortable beds. Some parts of the hotel are a little tired #I'm always a little grossed out by scarred woodwork that's been repainted over and over - but this IS an older hotel so it's really not indicative of anything untoward...# and I wish these folks would provide free wifi. On the other hand, the free coffee in the lobby in the morning is a nice perk.

The hotel staff was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The view from the room was fantastic. It made my weekend. :) Room service was excellent. I would definitely book here again.

I expected an incredible hotel experience: A top-rated hotel built in 1926 and located in the perfect San Fran location. What I got was a small room, missing towels after the room was made up, and a mediocre desk staff. The best thing about the hotel was the location, and the best staff were the bellmen. Not worth the money, even at discounted website rates. The better chain hotels have much nicer rooms, and friendlier staff.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are reasonably priced. But everything else is priced out of proportion. $12.95 per day for WiFi access, $6.50 for a bottle of water in the room, holiday brunch for $85, etc.

Quick, 3 night stay on a short outing to San Francisco at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins hotel. Very accomodating and fantistic hotel in a great location! Rooms have all the necessities and are quiet. Would stay there anytime.

I was in SF for work and rented a car while I was there. Parking here is the worse and really expensive. There we sever weddings happening and I think some kind of conference (a lot of people wearing lanyards with their names) so the valet were backed up and it took about 30 minutes to get my car. When I asked the concierge a really tall guy with a southern accent if I could park the car myself he looked at me like I was from Mars and said I suppose so just pull into the garage—I then asked where the garage was located and again with a snide look says California. The room was nice and comfortable with a great view except the water pressure in the shower was so week that I had to rinse my hair in the sink.
