The room was very nice, the partial oceanview room had a great view of the ocean. Location couldn't be better, Right on the beach and close to all the attractions. Had a great time in San Diego.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location (at an affordable price) to watch the surfers and play in the waves in PB. Out the hotel door and you're on the beach. Lots of great restaurants and nightlife in PB, and its just a short ride to Hillcrest and other attractions.

close to transportation, few block walk to trolley and harbor attractions without parking issues. Air traffic and trains stop about midnight and start at 6:30. Not much of a moring spread or seating for toast.

Upon checking in, our room smelled like smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. I immediately called the front desk and requested another room on the first floor that didn't smell like smoke since we were traveling with our 3 month old. They gladly obliged and even gave me an upgraded room free! the original standard room was very small but the upgraded room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal with 2 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, bananas, juice, milk and toast.

I went to a conference and it saved me a lot being able to park for free. The hotel was quiet and clean. It's located close to little italy and a quick taxi ride to gaslamp.

The hotel was very cozy and located in the PERFECT area of San Diego. Right downtown with a great night life. Tons of great food and bars in the area. The hotel was nothing special but had what we needed.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room sufficiently equipped. Nice and clean fitness room, sufficient for a good work out. Great food for a reasonable price during happy hour. Close to the Gaslamp Quarter, to the Coronado ferry and to the airport. Easy to reach by public transport.

The Sofia Hotel is located in a perfect location. I stayed there for a week and found it very convenient. The staff were very helpful with all questions I had such as suggestions restaurants and flagging cabs down. The Hotel is located within a 5-10 minute walk of Petco Park and Gaslamp Quarters. Its a 15 minutes bus ride from The San Diego ZOO, just hop on the 7 bus across the street. It is a perfect hotel for anyone who is traveling on a budget. You wont find a hot tub in your room and things like that but if you are more interested in seeing the town, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are a little small but for the price it was great. Also, the restaurant in the hotel, Current, is also very good.

San Diego is an amazing city with plenty of things to do and places to eat. This hotel is centrally located to just about all major attractions...would've rated it a 5. Although, there is nothing scenic to look at outside the hotel window--not the hotel's fault. The hotel was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay there again upon our next visit!

This Courtyard location was fantastic. The room was very clean and cozy. Location was not too bad it is located near many attractions including Sea World, Cornado Island, etc. Only downside to the location is the frequent airplanes flying out from the airport across the bay. In the evenings its not too bad though. Other than that though perfect place to stay with a friendly staff.

Location is minutes from Gaslamp Area. Many restaurants, shopping, and attractions are within walking distance of hotel. Nice heated pool and hot tub. One BIG drawback was the $26.00 parking PER DAY!!! With the amount of money spent at the hotel, the least they could do is to throw in free parking. The cost to park was ridiculous!!!

We stayed at this hotel on New Years Eve because we didn't want to drink and drive. It was a fantastic experience and we will definitely stay again.
All of the staff, from the valet guys to housekeeping was friendly and happy and sincere. They are a huge part of what made our stay great. And the bed in the room was super comfy, great to sleep late in.
The view of SD bay was amazing and there's a little balcony just big enough to stand outside on. Overall it was an awesome stay and we were both thoroughly pleased. Great hotel!

First non-smoke room smells smoking. The replace room is much fresher. Price is fare.
Very close to highway. (It takes 11 miles to San Diego zoo.) However the location is very good if you want to meet both premium outlets in San Diego. The Hotel is almost in the between of both outlets.

This hotel has been remodeled and the room i had was very clean. It is an older hotel but very nicely taken care of and has two pools. i would stay here again.

Perfect location central to everything. Room was clean and staff was helpful. This location offered free parking, free wireless internet, and had a microwave and minifrig that a lot of other hotels did not offer. I was able to get a hairdryer from the front desk when needed as well. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

It is a very nice hotel. I have stayed a couple times because it has a great location, right on Shelter Island with great walking and views.
Could use some new pillows and provide more then 2 per bed. Used the computer and printer in business center at hotel was not happy with the cost for spending 4 minutes on computer especially since the internet runs slow, and print 1 sheet of paper.

We had flown in from Texas and had lots of time before we could check in, but since we were so tired we asked if we could possibly check in early. They found an open room and let us go in. The room was clean and the continental breakfast was good also. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice staff and clean hotel with a well-conditioned kitchen. House keeping was so good. We can have some snacks, light meals and beverages at so-called "the happy hour" in the evening on Mon.-Fri. But there is a little problem with the noise in the midnight due to ships' hooter from the bay.

This is a clean and comfortable hotel for the money. It's located 3-4 blocks from the trolley. You can park your car, if you've brought one, and take the trolley throughout the city. The cost (as of this posting) was $5 a day per person for an all-day pass. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We chose not to eat at the restaurant associated with the hotel (only because we have our favorite places), so we can't comment on the resturant. The hotel is located in your "typical" downtown neighborhood in any large city--meaning you'll see all types of people (tourists, families, business people as well as homeless individuals). We took the trolley to Petco Park, the Gaslamp District and to the Fashion Valley Mall (a very nice place to shop). My husband and I have stayed at many upscale Marriott, Westin and Sheraton hotels on business. However, for our personal travel, this is a nice hotel for the money. I don't believe it has a fitness or business center, but does offer free wi-fi, although it seemed a little slow when used with our iPad. We'd stay here again.

We reserved a room with a fireplace, and when we got in, it wouldn't light. Staff came up and tried to fix it, and when they were not able to, they promptly moved us to another room with the exact same amenities. It's a historical hotel, not modern at all (pull chain toilets). I chose it for that reason. Very cute place!

Great location - 3-5 minutes walk from the san diego convention center. The room has one queen bed - very good if you are traveling alone to conferences. Also, there are plenty of restaurants and bars around, very safe area to walk around at night. A starbucks around the corner. Wireless internet is not free - 9.95 $ per 24 hours for wireless internet. The room is pretty -Victorian style old furniture etc.

Staff friendly and informative. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too and a great view from the balcony. Being in the Gaslamp district it was noisy at night especially on Saturday but the action was right at your finger tips. I didn't have any trouble sleeping. Lots of places to eat and people were friendly. Close to Hortons Plaza and other areas within walking distance. Great transportation as well.

Decor is very much "old 1920's hotel" which was fun.
the suites are large, with small kitchen (dishes, microwave, refrid), pull out sofa and bed. The rooms on the front side of the hotel are noisy on weekend nights though. The breakfast (toast, cereal, etc) on the roof was a nice touch, and then have games and books there as well.
Parking EXPENSIVE, but there are other options near by (although no in-out privlages except with valet). Right in gaslight, not far from the action. If you are at convention center is about 6 blocks, which was a bit far for kids to walk at the end of the day.

This hotel was more affordable than others I was looking at and you get what you pay for. The building is pretty outdated and the elevators are quite old and very slow. The room wasn't amazing, but it sufficed. The nice part about this hotel is that it's located right downtown and you can walk just about anywhere. They also had a nice rooftop deck that you can get some really great views of the city from. They also had free wifi. Overall, an affordable hotel that served its purpose. I would return, but would probably look at other hotels first.

I was spending one night in San Diego, to attend a convention at the San Diego Convention Center and wanted something close and inexpensive. The Ramada Inn certainly qualified on both accounts.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is open 24 hours, which made it easy for a late check-in.
The room was small, and the building was old. It looked like they did a remodel, but a number of years ago, so it was starting to look a little "saggy".
Walls were relatively thin, as I could hear the loud women in the adjacent room on her cell phone. Fortunately, she stopped before I went to sleep.
Truthfully, I would have spent a little more money and stayed in a different hotel, in retrospect. My wife gets specials, as she's a member of a certain boutique hotel chain's "club", so I could have stayed at one of their hotels down the street for not much more and it's STUNNING.
All said, for $99, it was fine. No real complaints.

This place is about 3 blocks away from the convention center. Neat place. Staff crew is very friendly. They have a mini bar in every room just to allure you to buy their super expensive alcohol, but if you can control yourself, its is a good place to be in San Diego.

The Bristol Hotel was just what we were looking for. It is very close to the beautiful Gas Light District, within a walking distance to the waterfront, near theaters, restaurants, cafes and great shopping. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was quite spacious. We would definitley recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego.

My hsuband and drove from Phoenix for a quick weekend to meet with our daughter and her family.
We had a great time. The staff at the hotel were great and the room had a beautiful view of the harbor.
It's an older property and could use some updates but room was comfortable and very clean.

Overall I had a very good experience with this hotel. It was lovely, in that it is located in a historical building. Its location in the Gaslamp area made restaurants and other activities very accessible. The staff were very helpful and positive. The only downside was the degree to which the rooms were not insulated to reduce sound. Each night there were people on our hall being very loud for long periods of time in the middle of the night and you could hear every word said.

Booked my room based on several factors. I was looking for a hotel in Dontown San Diego that had parking, breakfast and in room amenities like fridge, etc. Thought the pictues posted online looked cozy and added a homey feel to the property. All my needs were met. Hotel parking was only $10/day--way better than the $20-40 other, larger hotels were charging. Free Continental breakfast was mostly ready at 6am--great becasue I was in SD for a race and wanted to get some food in me before I went to the start line. Most hotels have breakfast at 7am, so pleased to find out I could take advantage of the food. Staff were friendly at check-in and saw them sweeping the courtyard/parking lot to keep it immaculate.
Room was what you would expect for a Best Western of that age and size, but my friend and I had plenty of room. The room looked recently refurbished with clean carpet and newish bedding and the (small) bathroom had new tile, fixtures, glass shower and rainfall showerhead and good water pressure.
Location is just north of the GasLamp district, so you get a great short walk to restaurants/nightlife without having to be disturbed by traffic and revelers in the wee hours of the morning.
Best surprise feature was all the plants in pots and planters around the courtyard. My friend, a gardener, was speechless at the size, variety and colorfulness of all the plants. If you have ever stayed in a hotel with dead palms or bushes in the planters and felt depressed because of it,you will certainly appreciate all the flowers and succulents around the offices and rooms. Also a small viewing deck on top of the roof with more plants for meditation and quiet time.
Would definitely stay here again!

The rooms are quite "cozy" (a wee bit tight & small, especially the bathrooms), however the staff is quite friendly and accomodating. We were surprised to find no fan in the tiny bathroom, as the opening of the equally tiny window was not terribly efficient in clearing out the dampness of the shower. The room was clean, if compact. The walls were the traditionally non-soundproof type. The complimentary breakfast was unexpected hearty & replete with enough choices to please most any tastes.The grounds and roof garden are pleasant respites of green in the midst of a cityscape- a succulent lovers haven!The small fridge was nice to have, and the small market across the street made for a handy(if overpriced) snack/wine/essentials run.Parking was $10/day, which compared to other locations is low, but really--there should be no charge to guests for parking in the Inn lot--perhaps it would seem friendlier to add a couple dollars to the room price, and not charge separate for prkng.

The location for us was perfect a short walking distace to any thing you want or need in downtown.
Attractions and all the dining you would want are whithin (15-20 min. walk ) from very top end to everyday dining. Room was very comfortable, staff was very accomadating and friendly. Hot and cold breakfast buffet was very nice a nice $$ saver. Shuttles are offered also.

The only thing that stops me from rating this hotel as perfect is I found out when I was checking in that it would cost $16 per night to park in their garage!! Are you kidding? Parking should always be included. Where else am I going to park?they should at least mention it on the website. I am already paying good money to come to the place, you would think they could be less greedy and not charge for parking.I never heard of paying to park.
