OK for the price and shuttle to LAX
-Had to hang around in small lobby (with a few sofas but nothing else) until room was ready. There wasn't even a bar to wait around. -No one at front desk at 5 am (when checking out). Had to holler/yell to get someone (there were also foreign guests who had been waiting for staff to show up). -Free breakfast is no deal for those checking out early. -SevenEleven and Sizzler are a big plus for the hotel with bare minimum amenities.

Hotel website should make it clear that this is a bare-minimum hotel. I wasn't particularly disappointed because I picked this hotel for the clean room with low price and convenience for our early morning flight.

Great stay!
The hotel was nice and clean and staff was friendly. The only thing missing is a lounge in the hotel.

Holiday Inn Express - LA Airport
I had to fly in and out of town on short notice and wanted a nice hotel near the airport for a reasonable price. This is a newly renovated hotel, with nice rooms and bilingual (Spanish-English) staff. However, the lack of amenities for a person flying in and out of an airport area was striking. Perhaps this is a caution as to the real meaning of "Holiday Inn Express," for the uninformed. No room service or restaurant on the premises (or even close by) is a problem for the late night arrival and hungry traveler. Plus, the surrounding neighborhood is dead, if not a bit seedy - so you don't want to venture out and explore. The lack of "movies on demand," ditto for the time zone traveler (wouldn't mind paying for them!) The night I arrived there was a painter working in my hallway, painting doors until late at night....smells, noise. Ick!

nice hotel, shuttle may be a hassle
Nice hotel, nice hot breakfast. Took some time to get from the airport. Had to call hotel first to ask for shuttle, waited about half an hour. Make sure you ask what Holliday Inn you are going to - there were other shuttles to other locations
