Westmark Fairbanks Hotel

This was my second time staying here and I still feel like it has everything you need for a room. Staff still not very talkative, but not rude either.....well except one guy, he was awesome and funny.

The good news---clean, quiet and a great location downtown. Also very friendly, attentive staff. Good free breakfast in the morning. Avoid the south tower rooms--they're pretty shabby, though clean, and the internet doesn't work there. If you like bingo you are within walking distance to several of the most popular bingo halls.

Stayed here this past weekend and had a great time. The staff could be friendlier, I think. They weren't rude but more straight to the point with nothing extra and definitely no smiles. Room was nice and had what was needed. I would stay here again.

The hotel staff did an awesome job of handling the large number of attendee's and the food at all of the meals was of very high quality. The transitioning from seminar to meeting room in the same room was handled well and the coffee pot was always full and hot.

Nothing special. Very ordinary big hotel. You have everything that you need on the business trip.

I prefer the second floor of the south tower to the first floor.

Partly painted ceilings in the bedroom, and a disastrous breakfast. This Hotel needs to make a push to rise above the standard US Motel to make a difference. In Europe, i would categorize this as a "Hostal". Perhaps a little more attention to the little stuff will help, make something unremarkable, truly remarkable. We were greeted by a smiley receptionist, and the check in was fast and efficient. Lobby and public areas were clean and orderly. We were offered a room on the top floor, where i can only imagine is the main hotel turnover area as the closer we got to it, the more worn everything looked. I may return, but will remember to have the view of sleeping in a noisy "Hostal" and not a Hotel.

The tub drained slowly and the air conditioner kept clicking it was -10 outside. The maintenance guy was nice and fixed the AC, but the tub had to wait...

The hotel overall was excellent. The only thing My family would change is the beds, we were not impressed with their comfort at all. The free breakfast was always stocked and above average. We enjoyed being so close to all the major stores on Airport way. The parking was very good and had plugs for every space which in February was a necessity. Overall We would stay here again if we were in Fairbanks.
