Sofitel Berlin Gendarmenmarkt

We went to Berlin in February. The city is great. The Sofitel Hotel is located right in the middle of the Mitte Section of town. it is in close walking distance to many attractions including Museum Island and close to a U-Bahn station. It is also close to the airport. The staff was most helpful. The were polite and courteous. The entire staff speaks English which saved me from using my phrase book too much. The room was very comfortable though a little small. I would definitely stay here in my next visit to Berlin. I would recommend it to anyone.

Had a good stay. The Gendarenmarkt is ideally located a block from the Franzoesichestrasse U bann and Friedrichstrasse, near great shopping, great restaurants, Unter den Linden, the Statsoper, the Brandenburg Gate and more. And the view of the Gendarenmarkt is special. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. But in the end the rooms are functional but merely adequate with tired furniture and inadequate lighting. That said the bathroom was just fine and the amenities (coffee, computer set up) were very good. Still I was in a junior suite and the room was not very special from my perspective. I wld not recommend as a four star, but otherwise it works well.

The best of central Berlin is easily accessible from this excellent hotel. The staff was welcoming and warm throughout our stay. Local dining options are great. Room on the small size. If you're heading to Berlin, careful consider this superb value!

Situé dans le quartier de Mitte à proximité du Métro et à quelques minutes de marche des principaux sites (Porte de Brandebourg, Musées, Checkpoint Charlie, Unter den linden...), une vue magnifique pour les chambres donnant sur la Gendarmenmarkt. Calme, confortable et personnel irréprochable. Idéal pour un WE "découverte".

The hotel was in a great location, many wonderful restaurants within walking distance as well as shops. As a tourist, the concierge was top notch - recommendations on what to do proved wonderful, tickets were secured. All my needs were handled effortlessly. The only thing missing was good lighting in my room. The mood lighting of yellow, pink and purple hues although interesting, wasn't functional and resulted in having a room with very low to dark light. The room itself was well appointed as was the bathroom.

1泊の滞在だったので、アクセスの良いホテルということで選びました。 ホテルはギャラリーラファイエットと同じブロックでお買い物は便利。stadmitteというU2の駅、franzosischestr（U6）駅が近くなので公共手段で移動が簡単でした。お部屋（セミスィート）はリヴィングとベットセクションが別になっていますが、広くはなく、コンパクトにうまくまとめたな。という印象です。周りはカフェやちょっとしたレストランも沢山あり、（ラファイエットの中の食品売り場のカフェにも注目すべし）困ることはまずあ ません。スタッフも親切です。

Very nice hotel, quiet and well-kept. Personnel is attentive and helpful. Location can no be better close to all the attractions. Highly recommended.
