Kempinski Hotel Bristol

Super Hotel mit langer Geschichte, schön renovierte und passend ausgestattete Zimmer. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Einzig der Poolbereich dürfte etwas grösser sein. Lage am Ku'damm ist Geschmackssache, da etwas weit weg von den andern Stadt-Zentren. Allerdings gibts viele Shops am Ku'damm, also gut für Leute, die Shoppen möchten. Zudem gibts grad neben dem Hotel eine U-Bahnstation.

It all starts with a hotel that understands customer service with a smile and has the historical roots needed to offer that service naturally. The hotel has a marvelous location near transportation, shopping, and more restaurants than you will have the time to experience. The hotel has charm and wonderful ambience.

If you don't want to slum it in Berlin but want to pay slightly less than the more centrally located posh hotels, then the Kempinski Hotel Bristol is a good choice. Architecturally pleasing with a hint of 1920's decadence, the hotel has friendly and helpful staff, which goes some way to offset the price of the drinks in the bar. The hotel is located on the Kurfürstendamm (Ku'damm), one of the most famous shopping avenues in Berlin but this does mean there is not an abundance of bars and restaurants to meet the casual eye. They can be found of course, but the positive side is that the general ambience of the area is calm, the only noise at night the sound of the occasional train rattling past. Some reviews have mentioned that the rooms and decor are slightly worn and that the television in the room is not a flat screen. . To a small extent the comments about the décor are true but does not detract from the general air of quality and comfort.. We didn’t come to Berlin to watch TV so the CRT telly was not an issue. The room we occupied was clean and comfortable, although be prepared for two single duvets if you have a double bed. The bathroom was a decent size by European standards and the shower nice and strong. Directly outside you can find a Starbucks to visit for breakfast if you don’t want to pay the 15 euro pp breakfast in the hotel. The U-Bahn is very easy to use and the station Uhlandstraße on the U1 line is next to Starbucks. For example you can be at Alexanderplatz within 20 minutes with one change. (Change onto the U2 at Gleisdreieck for Alexanderplatz, where you can find the TV Tower) There is a taxi rank right outside the hotel on the main entrance. If you are feeling sprightly, you can take a left out of the hotel and walk down the Ku'damm, navigate your way through the Tiergarten, visit the Siegessäule with its fine views over Berlin, see the first two tanks that entered Berlin at the Soviet War Memorial, admire the Brandenburg Gate and stop for a rest at the Reichstag, all in about 2-3 hours. For us, this was the best way to get a feel of Berlin. In summary, the Kempinski Hotel Bristol is a comfortable hotel with good service in a pleasant district of Berlin, with good public transport links and all the major sites are walkable if that takes your fancy.

Vähän turhan hieno hotelli Maratonia varten. Hintaan ei sisältynyt aamiainen. Ei persaukiselle palkansaajalle; paljon kustannustehokkaampiakin vaihtoehtoja on. Sopii parhaiten siis henkilölle. jolla on hieman enemmän täppää pankkitilillä :)

Super place to stay and great staff. Room very nice but a bit remote, internal view over building with long walk from lifts and stairs.

Einfach fabelhaft!

The hotel is located at an ubeatable location. If the goal of the trip is to get to see as much of Berlin as possible while staying at a great hotel this is your place. There is Underground stop, a bus stop and a sightseeing bus just a hundred meters on the main street. Close to the zoo, and the area where located is full of restaurants, cafes and high end shops. The TV was not the best, but other than that, you can´t go wrong.

Was probably 5 star in 1920's. Rather faded at present. Excellent location. Restaurant very good, and not too pricey.
