Perfect hotel for a gay weekend out in Berlin, as you live in the middle of Schöneberg. It is also convenient for shopping within walking distance from KaDeWe.

3-plus, 4-minus stars, basic hotel, strategically located, with access to subway system at 5-min walking distance. Plenty of good food choices surrounding the hotel and just 10 minutes walk from Kurfurstendamm shopping boulevard. If you want to be surrounded by Berlin historic city area, this is not an option. If you don't mind a short trip on subway to reach all historic points in Berlin, this is a good, affordable and basic option

Good Hotel and one unfortunate time...
The one thing missing was something that is not really the Hotel's fault. During the week I was there, Berlin (together with all of Central and Eastern Europe) went through a very acute and rare heat wave that took temperatures up to mid nineties,and the Castor, along with other hotels in the same class, has no a/c. This made things a little less enjoyable, and on the internal survey that I filled upon checking out, I admitted my understanding, but added that ceiling fans could be a relatively unexpensive investment for the future.
