Not recommended
Small, old and dirty rooms. Bed was very uncomfortable and I had a back pain in the morning. Also, it's located in a bad and unsafe area, far from all attractions. Pay a little bit extra and stay close to city center and attractions otherwise you would end up paying more to taxi cabs for your commute.

Istanbul Hotel
Pretty quiet neighborhood. I prefer this to the crowded, hipper neighborhood. Great access to public transportation. Really helpful, English speaking staff. Good inexpensive restaurants nearby. Good street food. If you need help with your cell phone, the Turkcell store up the street is really helpful and a couple of the people there speak English. The two negatives for me were the fact that the Internet never worked on my floor (it was fine downstairs) and it was really smokey. Nobody pays attention to the non-smoking areas. The bar was really bad, but good wine!

Good location for transportation. Nice Pool.
The hotel was located next to the tram which goes to all major tourist locations. The hotel also has a nice indoor pool.
