Sweet little hotel
I have used The Ivory twice during my vacations to Thailand. The original decision to use it was its proximity to the airport. It has a Cafe that serves some western foods. The prices (hotel and food) are very reasonable and the staff is great. The receptionist even remebered me from over a year ago!

Use a metered cab. 20 to 40 Baht tip (currently about .70 cents to $1.30) for short runs (the meter around or below 200 baht). If you use an unmetered cab, you could pay double that. If not more.

10 min drive from airport with free transfers. no frills hotel. kind of overpriced with what you get. probably would try different hotel.

Two friends and I have a night in Bangkok before a morning domestic flight. Two of us arrived from one flight and the other 2 hours later. Despite the late arrival of both flights, after 10pm, we were all picked up and had an air conditioned room with hot shower, smoke-free with an extra bed as requested online. We were also provided a ride back to the airport in the morning.

Bobs Travels
Convenient for airport travel
This was a quick overnight stop for me prior to an early morning flight. The hotel was clean, had nice accomodations, and was convenient to the airport. I would not stay here to enjoy the sights of Bangkok - but for a quick stay to access the airport the hotel worked well.

Excellent hotel for an overnight
Excellent hotel for an overnight stay in Bangkok. Literally a 10 mins taxi ride from Survarnabhumi, which a lot of so called "airport hotels" are not. Just down a soi off a busy highway, so can be noisy. Ask for a room in Building B. Clean room, nice staff. Free transfer to airport included in tariff. Shopping centre with Lotus Tesco, restaurants, bars etc just 5 mins walk away. Ideal if you are using Bangkok simply as a transfer point to elsewhere.
