Shame it was so busy

The Grange York Hotel is a classic country house style hotel providing quality accommodation and service for travellers. Meetings and events can be arranged at the hotel's spacious hall. York Minster, a large Gothic cathedral is just a few minutes walk from this property. Jorvik Viking Centre is a reconstruction of Viking age streets located just over a kilometre from the hotel. The National Railway Museum is also close by. This hotel is a few minutes drive from York Castle Museum.
General

The Grange York Hotel has a conference room with seating capacity for up to 50 delegates. A meeting room is also available. York Maze is just 15 minutes drive from this property. This maze is carved from maize plants and offers a variety of activities.

Location

The Grange Hotel is located on the A19 York to Thirsk road. It is just half a kilometre from the city centre. A variety of the area's places of interests such as York Museum Gardens and Merchant Adventurers' Hall are close by.

From the North via the A19 or A1 – Approaching York on the A19 proceed straight ahead on reaching the roundabout at the outer ring road (A1237) and follow the signs for the City Centre. Continue for approximately 2 miles where The Grange is on the right just beyond the footbridge to St. Peter’s School. From the A1 take the A59 and follow the signs to York. Turn left at the outer ring road (A1237) and right at the intersection with the A10 to City Centre. From the South via the M1 and A1 – Travel North on the M1 until it joins the A1 (M) then follow the signs for the A64 York. Travelling East on the A64, take the A1237 (York outer ring road) and continue for approximately 5 miles following the signs to Thirsk (A19). On reaching the roundabout at the A19 turn right to the City Centre and proceed for approximately 2 miles. The Grange is on the right just beyond the footbridge to St. Peter’s School.
Restaurant

The Ivy at The Grange Hotel in York is open everyday for lunch and dinner prepared with fresh local produce. A selection of wines is also available. Good food and wine are also served at the hotel's Cellar Bar.

Informal and relaxed the ambience appeals to all. The Cellar Bar is located in the original brick vaulted cellars of the hotel and is open for dinner at the weekend and for private parties at other times.

Shame it was so busy

Nice hotel, good location, reasonable room but a bit short on parking. We stayed 1st weekend in December so hotel was full for Christmas parties. Therefore Kitchen couldn't cope for evening meal and food wasn't warm.
