General
Hotel 53 York provides equipped meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 60 people and Wi-Fi access throughout the premises. Laundry services and parking on site are on offer for added convenience. While in the area, visitors should not miss a stop at nearby Mansion House, York Theatre Royal and Merchant Adventurers' Hall.
PLEASE NOTE ALL ROOMS ARE NON SMOKING Check in 2.30 pm Check out 11.00 am
Limited car parking at a nominal charge opposite the hotel.

- FROM LEEDS VIA THE A64: Travel East on A64 Take A1036 towards York City Centre. Pass the Racecourse on right and travel up the Mount and along Blossom Street towards Micklegate Bar. Turn right at traffic lights into Nunnery Lane. Bear left over Skeldergate Bridge and over roundabout. Take first left after roundabout into Piccadilly. QUALITY HOTEL is on the right. FROM THE SOUTH & 64979; M1 AND A1: Travel North on the M1 at Junction 32 take M18 link to AI North, At Junction 2 take AI North. Continue until sign marked York A64 and follow directions as above.

Pre Christmas Weekend
In a word, Passable. Staff helpful, room clean. Slightly marred by mattress with big dip in middle so we rolled together and traffic noise very intrusive. Needs better fenestration to sound proof outside noises. Location good for central York being no more than a 5 minute walk away. In terms of value £120 for one night only plus car park plus breakfast seems pricey.

Excellent 'boutique'style hotel
Excellent 'boutique'style hotel in easy reach of York centre (about 10 minutes walk). Very clean, well appointed rooms and an excellent buffet breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful and the access to covered parking across the road (£10 charge) was an unexpected bonus. Would recommend. Steve Haynes

Room was very clean and tidy,
Room was very clean and tidy, Hotel staff were very helpful. Weatherspoons is across the road from the Hotel which has very cheap and tasty meals, especially breakfast for 3 pounds.. York Castle and Musuem close to hotel although Railway Museum and Railway Station about a 25 minute walk..

I was very pleasantly surprised
I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, as I booked it based on reviews I had seen on [competitor website]. Having had not such great luck with my booking in London, I didn't know what to expect, but the staff was courteous, the room spacious and clean, the bed comfortable and the location also very good, at an easy walking distance to the old city. I strongly recommend it and would not hesitate to book myself there again, whenever I find myself in York.

In general, I was disappointed
In general, I was disappointed from this hotel, and only the manager on duty (a very nice person which I forgot his name) made it bearable. The bathroom in my kids' room was stinking but the guy came and fixed it. There was no parking so I was sent to park in a "pay and display" parking lot (which forced me to wake up early and renew the payment). We were provided with a room for disabled persons (without being asked first) and it was not comfortable. The water in the shower were dripping very sloooooowly, so my wife had to go to the kids' room for a shower. All in all, I did not like our stay there, and only the manager on duty (a very nice person) tried hard to make it easier and deserves a salute.

Hotel 53 Rocks My World!
The hotel was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was outstanding. The location was great, just a short walk from all the major sights in the wonderful city of York. Near to loads of shopping. This is the second time I have stayed here and would gladly stay here again. Two Thumbs Way Up! CHEERS!
