Wedgewood Hotel

Hôtel bien situé dans le quartier de Noting Hill, on peut faire pas mal de choses à pied et le métro n'est pas loin. Accueil moyen, la réceptionniste continue sa conversation au téléphone et nous donne nos clés en même temps ! Chambres correctes, ménage fait et serviettes changées.

What we like about the hotel is mainly the location, it's around 8 minutes walk to the Bayswater tube which is surrounded by a lot of nice restaurants and close to Hyde Park. Room wise, you get what you pay for. We did not expect much, it's a place to sleep for us. It's clean enough, just imagine staying at your friend's apartment/dorm. Basically we didn't have any horror story to tell. We would stay there again just for the location. So in a nutshell don't expect a 5 star hotel, treat it as a good base to explore London.

The triple room was a bit small but adequate. Carpet smelt a bit musty. Overall good enough for a 2 night stay. Loved the easy walk to tube station. Would recommend the hotel

Hotel simple. Bonne surprise : petit déjeuner compris (ça dépanne) 2 lits simple de petites tailles (70cm). Salle de bain correct. Hotel calme. Accueil et informations du personnel inégal. Bien desservie par bus et metro.

Almost all the hotels in the Paddington area are old, ratty, refurbished row houses, one expects that. On the up side the location is good (easy walk to Portobello street and several metro stations, about a 15 minute walk to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express), and the staff was fine, if a bit harried. The elevator barely works. My bathroom smelled of mildew and was average for the area (i.e. tiny but useable). I was there on business, but they had no wireless internet and I was forced to use dodgy 3rd party internet services. TV remote required a 10 pound deposit. In my case the price was good and it wasn't too much worse than any other place, but the lack of internet will force me to stay elsewhere next time.

Good place to stay. The room was decent, small (as expected) but with efficient use of the space. The room was clean. The location is very good, with Tube stations within a few minutes walk. Staff were friendly. The building is old and the floors creak and groan with every passing. The internal noise is quite bad – in my room I could hear people walking in the hall and even a couple in a room near mine enjoying some “special time”! The elevator is a blessing (I was on the 4th floor) but is scary – it squeals and shakes like it is on its last legs. I was nervous every time I stepped into it, but it did seems to operate fine. Wifi is available at cost. The temperature was kept at very high levels – nice when you first step in off the street, but stifling after a short while. My heater had a life of its own so I spent my stay using the open window to regulate the temperature. They charge a £10 deposit for the tv remote control- I did not appreciate being treated like a child.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. THERE ARE RATS! This is a converted apartment building built around WWII. The carpets smell, the rats are more friendly than the staff. The plumbing smells. The shower is not big enough for one person. Mildew on the shower curtains. Stains all over the mattress and sheets. The beds are military bunkbeds with paper-thin mattresses with the springs sticking out. They lied about the free airport shuttle services. They charge you for this service and they tell you when they will pick you up, you do not get to pick the time. We had to get up at 4:00am to be ready for a 5:00am shuttle for a flight leaving at 10:00am.

Vorweg : Super-Preis-Leistungsverhältnis !! Zimmer sind funktionell, aber völlig ausreichend möbiliert, Betten sehr bequem. Fernsehen könnte mehr Programme haben, aber wer braucht das schon ?Zimmer, Bad und Hotel sehr, sehr sauber. Bad neu und teuer ge-fliest. Personal sehr freundlich, kompetent und hilfsbereit. Zum Frühstück Toast, Butter, Marmelade, Cerealien,Kaffee, Milch, O-Saft. U-Bahn Bayswater nur 5 min. zu Fuß, sehr ruhige Lage !!

Nous avons été bien reçu. L'hôtel est très correct pour londres même si la chambre était petite, elle suffit largement pour un séjour. Petit déj servi à partir de 7h30 (corn flakes, toast, beurre et confiture, ménage des chambres tous les jours. Dans l'ensemble très satisfaite de l'emplacement et de l'équipement de la chambre.

The location is very convenient. Would be wonderful if there is internet service as well. Our 2 nights stay have been enjoyable.
