Kensington Suite Hotel

Extremely small rooms, extremely small shower (you could touch the sides with only moving 1 or 2 inches). No phone (seems to be an on going problem over the last 2 years), no toaster, would only give 1 room key and that key kept the lights on. Could hear every noise anyone else in the hotel made. Bathroom door would not shut. Desk staff didn't seem to care. When I made the reservation, it was free wireless internet was offered, and when I got there it was 2.50 pounds an hour and it was slow. Some pros: good water pressure in the shower, good location (5 min walk to Shepard's Bush Underground station), warm rooms

L'hotel est très bien placé.(arret de bus juste devant l'hotel). la chambre était au calme, le lit confortable.Propreté moyenne, la douche pas très bien entretenue avec du matériel vieillissant.La salle de petit dejeuner torp petite pour l'hotel.(on a du attendre debout que des places se libèrent.

They must have put the bed down first and then built the walls around it, with about 4 inches clearance between the bed and the walls. No room to put down two suitcases, let alone take anything out of them. The shower stall was too small to bend over in. The hotel description mentions kitchenettes in the rooms, but all I got was two plates, a cup and some silverware in a tiny nightstand. Internet available at the extortionary price of two pounds per hour. Ten pounds to store a suitcase after checkout.

We booked this hotel because it looked so nice and had a nice location. When we got there it wasnt in the best area and the room we had was the SMALLEST thing ever!! We hardly had room to move let alone our luggage. There was seriously about a foot around the bed to move and one side of the bed was blocked by a dresser. I would NOT recommend to anyone!!!

The hotel is located about 5 minutes' walk from Shepherd's Bush tube station, which is the only good bit about this hotel. The main reason for me to stay in London was to visit my friends and art galleries and shopping as I used to live in UK. I also wanted to cook for myself as I love cooking, and thought this hotel would be fine when I booked as there was a kitchenett. However, I got a big shock on the first day I arrived for the following reasons;- I got Room No.28 (double room). *No table and chairs in the room - with a kitchenett in the room, surely providing them is a basic needs!(There wasn't a desk, either.)Apparently there are no rooms with a table and chairs in the hotel. *One kitchenett door was missing - receptionist told me that it has been removed! *In the kitchenett, there were only a kettle, microwave with a grill, 2 sets of cups & saucers, plates & cutlery(they were inside the microwave!), fridge, nothing-else. More plates,soup bowls and cutting knife would have been helpeful. The light couldn't be switched on if the microwave or kettle was in use as there was only one plug. *No chest of drawers or wardrobe, just a hangig rail without doors - I have never stayed in a B&B without a chest or wardrobe! I don't think anyone would like to live out of suitcases when staying in a hotel! *Extremely noisy room through the night as the room was facing a very busy road - I have requested a quiet room! *Telephone was not working. *No stopper for the washbasin - The stopper has been removed as guests may flood the bathroom, according to the receptionist! I wanted to wash my small clothes, but had to do it in the kitchenett sink. *One of the shower doors were very difficult to open and close as it was very stiff. The outside of the doors rims were very filthy. *No internet connection in the room - Only around the reception area! No table here, either! As I couldn't sleep well because of the traffic noise, and thought I would go mad staying in the same room any longer, I asked to change the room about midday next day, but was told that I was too late for that day and should come back the following morning before 9 a.m. as the receptionist(deputy hotel manager) didn't know whether or not he could give me a different room then as the booking changes every day! Then about 2 p.m., just before I was going out to see a friend, I was told by one of the cleaners that I could have a look at Room No. 24 (twin room). The key didn't work at the beginning, but the room was quiet facing a garden, no apparent sign of anything broken (still no table and chairs, chest and wardrobe, just a shelf (the width of the top and sides didn't match) and a hanging rail, so I took the room. No one helped me to move my belongings (I had 2 suitcases and 2 bags) even though there were stairs, until just befefor I finished. The other cleaner offered me a help. Then afterwards I noticed that even though the beds were single, the blankets (very thick and awful colour) and bedcovers were double size and folded. As the result the the blankets were very heavy and too hot for summer, and the awful colour of the blankets were shown as they have folded the bedcover as well! It seemed the hotel has cut all the possible expenses to maximise their profit and they didn't provide the most basic furniture for the guests! I think this is the worst B&B I have stayed in UK even with this charge. I have to point out one more thing, one of the guests in the basement was saying that there were no windows in his room! Maybe, I was touch luckier than him. Poor guy.

The hotel is in an area that you don't really want to be walking in alone at night with valuables in. It is in the outskirts of Kensington, which is a nice area itself, but the hotel's location is less than ideal. The room itself was dirty -- the drain in the sink was clogged and when water ran, hair and dirt particles would rise. The hotel staff tok their time fixing this but eventuall got it done. There was a hole in the ceiling, and the walls hadn't been completely painted. The shower doors would not close, and the hotel staff refused to look into fixing the situation. The rooms were tiny and the bathrooms even smaller. The breakfast buffet, a main reason why we booked at this hotel, was also a big disappointment. The milk for the cereal was warm, and the food selection was small and very poor. The fire alarm kept going off while we were eating, and the staff just kept finding different excuses for it (the toaster, someone taking a shower, etc.). The hotel was near a train station, but it involved transfering which was less than ideal, especially with all of the bags, etc. upon moving in and checking out. Inside of the hotel, the elevators were fast but incredibly small, but to get to our room, we had to climb a staircase in addition to taking the elevator, which was less than ideal. The hotel offered wifi which was good, but it was primarily only offered in the lobby which is very small, or on these stairs outside of our room. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I would definitely not stay there again.

Rooms were clean and pretty quiet (could only hear water running in other rooms - ex. people taking showers). The bathroom was so small that I had to squeeze between the toilet and wall to close the door and step into the shower in order to open it. Also, the sliding shower door was stuck and hard to open/close.

A little larger room would have be nice. A better complimentary breakfast also. Same menu every day.

Pros: Good location, decent price, clean Cons: Extremely small rooms (no floor space to open case out onto), charge to keep bags before/after check in
