- This private room has 2 single bunk beds with lockers and a table and chair. Room can be used for single or twin occupancy. Shared bathroom facilities on every floor in the communal area.
- Triple Room
- Private triple room with 3 bunk beds and shared bathroom amenities in the communal area.
- Quad Room
- Private quad room can accomodate 4 guests in 4 bunk beds with lockers, shared bathroom facilities available in the communal area.
- Dormitory Room For 6
- You are booking for one bed in a six-bed mixed dormitory which includes your own locker, if you book for eight people you are not guaranteed the same dormitory room, therefore please book two private quad rooms.Under 18s are not permitted to stay in shared dormitories.

- Located in the centre of the 'West Ende' entertainment and attractions of London are right on the doorstep-with the St Pancras International (Eurostar) and the British Museum only 5 mins walking distance away. The Generator is located on Tavistock Place in Russell Square and with the excellent tube connections you can reach most of the popular tourist attractions within 10 minutes, as well as the numerous shopping centres and other entertainment venues.

Some surprises, but overall is good
I paid for one bed in a 4-bed room on internet. But when I checked in, the front girl gave me a bed in a TEN-bed room!!! Regardless I told her this is NOT what I paid for, she insisted that she cannot do anything about it. At last, I had to pay extra £20 to switch to a 4-bed room. The hall-way was shabby while the shower room was really clean. The bed sheet was wrinkled, like someone has used it already. Do watch your head if you are given a bottom bed.

Short walk from hotel
After you come off the underground station at Russell Square, right opposite the train station on the right hand corner, you will see a sign of Burnswick, just get on that stree and walk for about 500 meters, you will hit Tavistock Place. Turn right onto Tavistock Place, and you will see the blue color sign of Generator Hostel on the left hand side in about 200 meters. The location is super convenient.

at first disappointed, your email to me to confirm my booking said "Room description: Dormitories room. Contains one single bed. Suitable for one person." which made me believe I would get as I asked - a single room to myself - email was misleading. However, breakfast was good and staff were helpful. Hostel conveniently situated for tube and chipshop.

good hostel, great location
the hostel is really good and you are very close to 2 tube stations, you can get almost everywhere within around 30 minutes. the rooms are okay, there's lockers for the luggage, the toilets are pretty clean... showers aren't great, but the rest is :)

l'acceuil était trés bien, la propreté par contre était un peu négligé pour ce qui est des draps. sinon a part ça c'était bien.

Great for family with teenagers
We stayed for 5 days in a 4 bunk bedroom. Beds were OK, it got a bit hot at night. With windows open, the noise was minimum. Hallway noise was also minimum as we stayed in the 4th floor. Breakfast was OK, just cereal, toast with jam and coffee (not bad) some awful soda or juice. My only complain is the Breakfast room staff are not very proactive and lack any initiative. They just stand around and stare at you. One staffer saw a customer pouring coffee ina plastic cup and did not offer to get a regular coffee mug. They shouild be able to speak english at least. Other than that one incident, the stay was great. Would do it again. Great Location.

Not for Families
Though a clean and reasonably priced hostel, it was not a place to take children. But if I were a single college student that would be my choice to stay. Staff was friendly and always around.

Positive aspects: the hostel is
Positive aspects: the hostel is just a 5-minute walk from king's cross station; the staff is always kind and helpful; there is a small canteen were you can have a dinner for a few pounds; if you need internet there is both pay per use internet terminals and free wi-fi. Negative aspects: showers are cold in the morning; toilets are not always clean.

paid private room given bunk mixed dorm
Sister and I booked ahead & paid for private bunk room for 2 @ £85! When we got there only beds available were in mixed dorm. No other hotels available by that time so had to take it.Horrible. Very hot. Woke up in night with some bloke staring down at me from his bunk - yuk!
