Alexandra Hotel

L'hôtel est assez bien situé, prés de Hyde Park, l'arrêt de bus à deux pas et la station de métro au bout de la rue, c'est plutôt pratique! Le personnel de l'accueil est très sympa, quant aux chambres, elles ne sont pas très grandes mais c'est suffisant. En tout cas ils sont pas radins sur le chauffage, c'est même un sauna le matin au réveil ! Le hic, c'est la propreté, le ménage du matin n'est pas fait, le drap est juste remonté..et comme en arrivant c'est pas non plus trop reluisant... Pour le petit déj' c'est un buffet rikiki mais on peut se rassasier. Petit Conseil : Si vous voulez du jus d'orange, il faut arriver avant 8h00 sinon c'est fichu !! Bon, c'est moyen dans l'ensemble mais on aurait pu tomber pire!!

The room was small but that was pretty normal for the price range. The shower and bathroom were very small- a big person could not handle it. Several groups of young people stayed there and were rather noisy as they came and went after midnight. Just a few blocks from Paddington Station. Good inexpensive places to eat in the area. When we returned to London we came back and stayed another night.

The staff are extremely unhelpful and not friendly.They don't address any problems. they just say they will report it to management but you never hear the outcome. They say they have a elevator but they use rooms across the road and they have no elevator. Their is no internet service in the rooms, you have to take your laptop down to the lobby. We settled the account in cash and they said they had no change so could we come back the next day. This was the same story until morning of departure. They said if we gave then 2.25 then they would give us 10 pound but we only had 2.23 in change so they wouldn't do it, we did finally get out change. We told them we have never heard of a hotel that doesn't kept change. The breakfast room was extremely hot and the food was very average. The shower was very mouldy and the curtains in the bedroom torn and dusty. I would rate the accommodation as more for backpackers and definately not a 3 star.

We arrived at the hotel as planned, excited about the location and expecting a basic hotel. We were pleased to see the elevator as advertised when we walked in. After checking in, we were informed that our room was up a flight of narrow stairs. The elevator apparently only services some rooms. After lugging 3 large bags and some small (plus a baby) up the stairs, we found the room to be similar to a hostel. It was basic, had a TV, and a dedicated bathroom, but everything was dirty and the bathroom was in disrepair. The hotel was certainly functional, but not kept up. We were allergic to the musty hallways and the only air conditioning was an open window (i.e. NO AIR CONDITIONING). Our baby kept trying to walk out the window (floor level), but it was too hot to shut. There was also a lot of exterior construction which contributed to dust and dirt. We left and booked a room at the Hilton down the street.

chambre trés petite située à un angle de deux rues. sommier métallique sur roulettes et longueur du lit insuffisante. la télé ne fonctionne pas. par contre salle de bains avec douche trés propre.

la chambre attribuée était propre et AB équipée (sauf les draps un peu courts) mais sur l'issue de secours. Le petit déjeuner était très convenable pour le prix.

I got a basic room with a shower cubicle inside. Fine for the 30 GBP rate, though I would probably not pay much more for this.
