Piries Hotel

The room was a little small and a tight fit but it was a nice room. The location was nice because it was within walking distance of all the main attractions.

The Piries Hotel was a beautiful, clean hotel in a gorgeous old building in a very central area of Edinburgh, a five-minute walk to Haymarket station with 24-hour convenience stores and restaurants and pubs all around it. It had every modern day amenity you could want, a restaurant, very cheap internet access, and a very accomodating staff. I have a family of four with two very young children and our room was extremely large and roomy, a very welcome break from the smaller rooms we've had to stay in throughout Europe! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Edinburgh!

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an extra living room but the bath was in the hallway. The beds were comfortable. You can't beat the location near buses and Haymarket train station. Perhaps the lighting in the room could have been better.

The hotel was centrally located and everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful. The room was a good size and was cleaned daily. The trip was a lot of fun, and the only complaint I had was the lack of a top sheet on the bed because the comforter didn't look very new.

The hotel was very clean. There is no wardrobe in the room at all and an extremely uncomfortable bed. Also, there was lots of noise every time someone flushed the toilet anywhere in the building. It felt like renting a room in someone elses house rather then being in a hotel. You need 2 keys to get in - one for the main door and a hotel room key for the room itself - a bit inconvenient. However, it's good for the short stay and the price reflects the quality.

Sehr schlechte und durchgelegene Matratze im Doppelbett, kein Stuhl, Tisch oder Kasten im Raum. Licht konnte vom Bett aus nicht abgeschaltet werden. Zimmer konnte mit Werbung im Internet in keiner Weise verglichen werden. Das Frühstücksbuffet war eher dürftig und zweckmäßig. Die Angestellten waren recht freundlich.

My room had a stained carpet..broken fittings...and a gas-heated water boiler in a cupboard a few feet from my bed which switched on and off noisily every minute until long into the night. It may be that this hotel has nice rooms - but if you stay here ask NOT to be put in room 60. That apart the staff are friendly, the breakfast was OK and the hotel is in a quiet street ten minutes walk from the city centre.

Very clean hotel in great location near Haymarket station. Staff were very helpfull in answering any queries that we had as well.

Actually we did not stay in this hotel, and we were arranged to other Guest House nearby due to overbooking. We were not satisied with such arrangement since we booked 3 stars Hotel rather than Guest hotel, and we also found many customers were all arranged to other different hotels. However, I could accept the excuse of OVER booking and I was not satisfied with such accidental arrangement.

Older terrace housing converted to hotel. Great location, close to Haymarket Railway Station & eating venues. Contrary to previous reviews we read, we could not fault the room - best shower we had had on our UK travels, flat screen tv on wall. Did experience some noise from other guests late at night.
