Good value, clean with good amenities
My husband and I were looking for a bit of luxury on a budget and found a good deal with this hotel on the weekend we had planned our trip away. We were pleased to learn that there was a gym, swimming pool and spa for our use. On arrival we found the hotel to be very pleasant and clean inside despite the hotel's exterior looking a little rough. When we checked in we found that our room had been upgraded-a pleasant surprise! The room was immaculate with good facilities. The health suite with gym and swimming pool etc was a real bonus-making it a luxurious break for our romantic gettaway. The hotel was in a good location within close proximity to the city centre. We managed to fit in the visits to the health suite, site seeing within the beautiful coastline and enjoy the shopping and eating experiences within the city before our lovely weekend came to an end!

A good hotel for the price I paid,
A good hotel for the price I paid, with a lovely swimming pool, steam room etc. Staff were very friendly and the room was kept clean. The location however is not good as there are no shops nearby and you definitely need a car. If you just want somewhere to stay and have your own transport the Thistle Altens is a pretty good bet.

Reasonably comfortable hotel but
Reasonably comfortable hotel but could have been cleaner. There were a lot of hairs left on the bathroom floor. The room was a little frayed round the edges. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location is good for me as it it close to family, but if it was not for this I would find it a little far out of centre. Excelent price through hotel club could not have been bettered. Due to this I realy do not feel I have cause to complain!!

Great price for us on a budget.
Great price for us on a budget. The location is not great in terms of environment (a business park) and distance from the city, but we knew that and it wasn't a problem. It was still close enough to all the places we wanted to go. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is much better on the inside than it looks from the outside - a little in need of an makeover! However, our room was confortable and sufficient. I am sure we would stay again, but will again chose to avoid the over-priced breakfast! Overall, very happy.
