Best Hotel in Old Town Rota Spain
It does not get any better than this. If you are looking for the best hotel in the old town Rota, Hotel Duque de Najera is it. Location is on the waterfront at the Rota Marina. The best beach in Rota is just a few steps from the hotel pool, which is absolutely a beautiful ammenity. The staff is friendly and accomodating in every sense. They bend over backward to accomidate your every request. The rooms are comfortable, though the beds follow European traditon in that two singles are pushed together to create a double, the mattresses are frim and the pillows small. Nevertheless, I slept well every night. The shower is better than any hotel in the United States. Strong water pressure and instant hot water.

Short walk from hotel
Breakfast was served in the hotel, but traditional Spanish toast and coffee can be found a short walk from the hotel at a number of sidwalk cafes, at a very inexpensive price.

Very nice
The hotel was very clean and professional, bathroom was extremely roomy and nice for Europe; was a bummer the pool was cold and closed and that you had to pay for foosball and ping pong, bike use but oh well. In the offseason not all of the restaurants were open- they rotated. We missed the tapas restaurant for dinner but they had great happy hour. Rota in general is not easy to get to without a car so factor in a pricey (30 euro) taxi ride from the nearest train station if you don't rent a car... Front desk was pleasant but not overly helpful.

Truly great place!
This is a wonderful hotel. Great, friendly hotel cadre. Great rooms in a wonderful location on the water and the edge of town. Irish Pub across the street. The only thing that keeps this from being a "top choice" is most of the clientele are vacationers and the hotel doesn't serve breakfast until 0800. So if you're there on business find somewhere else to eat breakfast....
