Great Weekend Getaway
The Gran Melia Victoria is a very nice hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and our room was extremely clean and nice. At check-in they saw it was my husband's birthday and sent a bottle of champagne. The hotel is located a little outside of the historic center, but it is a nice walk along the water (maybe 15 - 20 mins) to get to the cathedral. My only negative would be that, although the hotel is extremely nice, it is maybe just a little bit "80's", as is much of that area of Palma. But hey, just pretend your last name is Carrington. I did see on many reviews that the hotel has a lot of noise. We were there off-season, and there was no noise...but there are many bars and clubs in the area, so it has the potential to be a little loud, I'm sure. All in all, a great hotel with wonderful staff!

Sightseeing tips:
Not Applicable
Catch the old-time train to Soller. The trip is fun and the town is nice. From Soller you can take a tram to Port de Soller, which is also very nice...lots of very pretty views during all parts of the trip.

Excellent hotel, well located. if you are staying here avoid city view rooms though, some are small and not reflective of the 5 star nature of this hotel. sea view rooms are very good.
