Great stay at the Tryp Apolo Barcelona
We just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. We were welcomed by Oscar, at the Front Desk who checked us in quickly and, at our request, gave us a quiet room. He was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us maps and tips on sightseeing. We also booked the Barcelona Tours hop on hop off bus with him. Gracias Oscar!! Our room, 624, was very nice and well-located. It was on the sixth (top) floor on a side street on the opposite side of the hotel from the nightclub. We had a balcony (not all of the rooms have balconies) and from there could see down to the port, the statue of Christopher Columbus, and Montjuic to the other side. It was an excellent room with comfortable beds, working safe, and refrigerator. The hotel provided lots of toiletries in the bathroom and the maid was very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

We ate breakfast at Dino Pan, a small coffee shop just across the street from the hotel. Great sandwiches, pastries and cafe con leche.

Hotel Tryp Barcelona Apolo
Ein doch etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel das vor allem im Sanitarberich renovierungsbedurftig ist. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut (nahe der Rambla und des Hafens) Das Personnal war freundlich und das Fruhstuck ganz OK. Die Zimmer zur Strassenseite wenn moglich meiden, da sehr laut. 4 Sterne hat es nach meiner Meinung nicht verdient, 3 Sterne OK.

Not Good
The hotel was not very clean. The rooms were noisy and the thermostat didn't really work. The bed reminded me of a pull out couch mattress. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Great trip, Great hotel. Very good value for money and in a good location. Metro stop 1 block from hotel and within walking distance to Rambla

No tea and coffee facilities in the room, telephone in room not working, said they would put it right but did not. Room size good, friendly staff, would go again.

Good location near La Rambla area
Good location... short walk to La Rambla area and many restaurants, bars, etc. Staff can be on the verge of rude when asked about local ammenities. Don't get talked into the breakfast buffet deal unless you definitely don't have time to go out. There are many places to eat within a ten minute walk that are as reasonable or more so. Bar prices are rediculously expensive... be sure to ask prices when ordering. Nearby shopping is abundant.
