Old Town Apartments

This was the greatest way to stay in Barcelona! I felt like I was living in Barcelona and not vacationing for the 3 days I was there. it was wonderful. We were able to hang out on the balcony and drink wine and have cheese and meat like real locals. The place where we picked up the key was a short metrorail or cab ride away from our actual apartment. At the office, the woman was friendly and professional (i even left my hat there and had to come back later to get it, luckily the office was open late until about 10pm!) We received a map and got on our way to the apartment. It was in a safe area, close to metrorail, walking around the corner to restaurants, even a club that we walked home from late night (again, safe area!). We had three people and split a 2-bedroom apartment. Very clean, updated kitchen, bright furnishings, everything explained. Nice balcony. Also had washer and dryer in the apartment! Would definitely book again! Elevator was small, but that's how all the buildings are! I squeezed in with 3 large suitcases piled up, but the boys took the stairs!

The apartment is exactly that, an apartment. There are a few buildings you could possibly be located in so when you check in don't try to load your luggage into the elevator at the check in location. You will need to take a cab or subway to your building. the apartment I was in was clean and had a kitchen. It was in a nice residential neighborhood so you must be quiet at night. the staff was friendly and gave me directions to the apartment. I used one of my credit cards only at this place at the time of check in, I then called the office and added the internet service over the phone. I had this credit card in a lock box and had not used it in a year. Somehow when I return I was contacted by my bank that approximately $1,800 was charged to Dell Computers from Spain to order computers. I am not sure who stole my card number but someone did at this place. This was the only time I used this credit card in Spain. I was not responsible for the charges.

The apartment was great but you have to check in at a different location and when you check in they give you the address of where your actually staying, Kind of a pain moving all of our luggage around town.

Office was hard to find, but plce was grea, especially for the $. Not in the crazy part of town but close enough to walk. Everything worked, was very clean and very nicely appointed.

I've been working in Catalonia for 8 months, but am returning to the US soon. I spent one last 3 day weekend in Barcelona (and took the train to Sitges for a day trip to the beach) with friends and was surprised at how lovely the room was. Located in an apartment building in the center of the city, the room was clean, new and quiet. There was even a fully equipped kitchen! It isn't ideal if you are looking to party, but if you actually want to get a proper night of sleep and have a bit of privacy, it is far better than any hostel. I would definitely book with Old Town again.
