Great Design, Good Value
Modern, tasteful design. Room was attractive but small. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms looking out over back courtyard are quiet; those looking out on street can be noisy when window is open. Breakfast was not included in our room, and it is expensive - EUR 15 for a breakfast. There is a wonderful little cafe on the corner, and we ended up eating breakfast there. There is also a grocery store directly across the street. Location is three blocks from Placa Universitat. Great for metro access and Aerobus which is the best way to get to and from the airport. Only two criticisms: 1) the mattresses on the beds are hard 2) the wi-fi is inconsistent: even though the signal strength is good the throughput can be extremely slow. I would stay there again.

Bus Touristica offers a one or two day unlimited on/off bus tour of the city. Great way to get an overview.

Quaint, Pleasant Hotel
This hotel was excellent for the low price that I paid. The hotel must have been recently renovated, it looked better in person than online. Great shopping and good restaurants are located within a 5 minute walk. The hotel staff from the early morning through the overnight staff were friendly and all spoke excellent English. I am already planning another trip to Barcelona in my mind and I will definitely stay at Hotel Advance. Be aware that they put a 100 Euro charge on your credit when you check in, it falls off once you check out and they prove that there is no damage to the room or nothing was taken (think mini bar). I shot them a e-mail about the charge and got a response within 15 minutes, telling me that the charge was already reversed. Their e-mail address is [@]

Short walk from hotel
A lot of reasonable restaurants within walking distance. Look for specials that include the breakfast at the hotel for free or it is 14 Euro. The breakfast was really good: choice of fruits, yogurt, juice, tea/coffee, eggs, sausage, cheeses and breads.

Ultramodern hotel
This is an incredible hotel - extremely modern European style - elegant minimalism, perfectly fitted bedroom with dark wood floors, bathroom with large glass shower and plentiful water. It's a small hotel. A rotation of desk clerks clearly in attendance and each hone very helpful. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in in Europe.

Barcelona First-timer
Really Great Find!!!
The hotel was easy to get to from the airport by taxi. The staff was helpful and friendly. They mapped out the tourist attractions which were walking distance from the hotel. When I asked for an outlet adapter they let me borrow one. The room was modern and clean and had A/C. The hotel was very quiet in general. Great place to stay at a great price. Highly recommended.
