Good location great breakfast
Thon Gyldenlove is on a convenient street walking distance from downtown but sufficiently far away that its in a real neighborhood and not touristy. The breakfast was spectacular with pickled herring and other Norwegian treats. Only downside was a bit of noise at night from the bar below, on one side of the hotel. All together, I highly recommend it.

A very nice Hotel! 7/10 in its class! Great breakfast and good service! There is, however, one thing we found annoying, the wash is outside the toilet, in the main room, and there is a window which enables you to see the other person on the toilet. A bit uncomfortable to sit there knowing the other person in the room could watch you at any time. So if you are going to stay here, bring someone you are comfortable with:)

This hotel is quite well located
This hotel is quite well located at a tram stop, the staff is friendly and very helpful, the rooms are basic but good, the only downside being that the sonic insulation with the outside is very bad. Because we checked-in (6 pm) quite late, we could only have a room on the main street, which was very noisy because of the traffic, but we managed to move to another room after the first night, and this one was much quieter. Great buffet breafast. If you leave between 6 and 6.30 you can have a take-away breakfast, which is much more basic. Complimentary coffee/tea machine and apples in the looby available all the time.

Not bad, but not great
Hotel staff were friendly. Room was a bit awkward as the bathroom (toilet/shower) had clear glass that could be seen from the rest of the room. Fine for couples or business travelers but not ideal for a family. Room was a bit stuffy. Delicious breakfast and the location is great for shops and restaurants without being in a super touristy section of the city.

Curry & Ketchup is a phenominal restaurant half way between the hotel and the Sculpture Park (can't remember its name in Norwegian).

The hotel was in a good location
The hotel was in a good location and we got reasonable value for Oslo. We couldn't figure out why the designer of the hotel put in clear glass windows in the toilet and shower. Since our adult son was staying with us in a triple room, we had absolutely no privacy. Secondly, there was only one light switch for both the shower and room. Therefore, if someone wanted to take a shower, the entire room lit up. Lastly, the folding bed barely left room to pass it to get to the other double bed or to the shower/toilet.

Hotelzimmer zweckmäßg, modern, ruhig. Lage in guter Gegend, viele nette kleine Bistros in unmittelbarer Nähe. City fussläufig in 15 min erreichbar.

Hotel location is very good shopping
Hotel location is very good shopping and site seeing. Boutiques are just a walking distance and lots of restaurants around it. You can also take a walk going to Vigeland Park and King's Palace. Hotel services are good also, including the breakfast...

Nice location - clean cut design.
Nice location - clean cut design. Lovely bright white breakfast room with an excellent choice. Single beds very single. Rooms were very warm - no aircon.

Good, practical city location
Good, practical city location and friendly staff. The room (single bed) was very small even then the booking stated twin bed. The wash basin was not in the bath room, but outside close to the bed. Avoid that kind of room, I believe (hope) other rooms was much more practical
