Main train station Shinagawa Station is just 5 min walking distance which can connect you to many destinations, very calm environment good for holiday accomadation, however the service level of front desk personnels are just average perhaps due to language barrier.
Never expect free early check-in even though the room is available i.e be prepared to pay extra 50% of the room rate if you arrived "as late as" 10.45am to request for early check-in.

This is a very good hotel and conveniently located less than ten minutes walk to Shinagawa JR station. The staff are most helpful and my room (Superior) abundant in size.

This hotel is one station away from Shinjuku (a major metropolitan hub in Tokyo). There are two smaller subway stops right next to the hotel, the hotel operates a free shuttle to Shinjuku, and there is an underground passageway from Shinjuku to the hotel. Very quiet, peaceful but convenient area to stay.
The hotel is a little old but is well maintained. The room was a comfortable size and very clean. All the staff are very helpful.

I picked Hyatt Regency Tokyo this time because my family had stayed here before and had good experience. I had several business meetings with clients in the hotel. The restaurants are somewhat pricey but acceptable. The amenities are very good and the staff are well trained. It is a bit far from Shinjuku station if you walk but they do provide free shuttle to the station.

très petite chambre double mais idéal pour un court séjour à Tokyo, à 10 minutes à pied de la station métro/train. bon à savoir, le transfert vers l'aéroport prend 1 heure et demi !

The location was not great, as it was a bit far away from the closest train and subway stations. There was smell of smoke in our floor. In general, it was good. I would come back.

I've been staying at this property every visit to Japan. To me, you can not beat it's location. It is located right across the Shinagawa Station. From there you have access to the JR railways, Keikyu lines and even the Tōkaidō Shinkansen (high speed railway). The staff can speak English well and are very attentive to your needs. You have a convenience store, food court and even the Epson Shinagawa Aqua Stadium and other attractions. Amenities are pretty much standard and rooms are very nice and clean. You have to understand that in Japan the rooms are a little smaller than what you are used to so don't expect to really "stretch out" after you unpack. Closet space are not that big so you may end up keeping some things in your suitcase. At this time there is NO room service so you do have to go out for dinner. The hotel has some very nice Japanese restaurants along with others that serve American style food. The rooms do have paid internet access and there are vending machines on every floor. Overall for me it is a good value and I can save extra "yen" to buy gifts to take home.

For a modest surcharge we upgraded rooms to the higher tower. View is brilliant...especially if you love trains!Food services inside were pricey but using the supermarket across street one could reduce expense.

Very handy for underground and for Ueno and Asakusa markets. Ten minutes from central Tokyo.
Watch out for specials in restaurant - only one a month and at lunch time. Restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch but many restaurants close by.

THE HOTEL CHISUN UENO IS LOCATED AT UENO STATION SO IT IS VERY PRACTICAL TO GO EVERYWHERE IN TOKYO BY TRAIN. ALSO THERE IS A ZOO VERY CLOSE(10 MIN.WALK) TO HOTEL. EVERYBODY SHOULD SEE THE PANDA AND OTHER JAPANESE SPECIAL ANIMALS. THE HOTEL IS GOOD TO STAY.

Overall, it was a nice room. A bit small, but that's expected in Tokyo. The bathroom didn't have a ventilation fan, but the shower was large enough. The area around the hotel has things to offer, and is close to the subway. It would have been nice to have some complimentary water as the vending machine on the second floor was out of water the first day I was there. Bed was comfortable and a/c worked well. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good.

I stayed for one night after a concert at the Billboard Live Midtown location. It was less than a 5 minutes walk and immediately around the corner from all the nightlife in Roppongi. I couldn't have asked for a better spot. The room itself was huuuuge (king bed, extra seating, desk) and clean with no lingering smells. The only gripe I have is that the entrance is up a few stairs and since I was carrying a heavy suitcase, it was rather troublesome. Other than that, this is a great hotel and I'll definitely visit again in the future.

Can't control room temperature

The only negative comment I have is about the room air conditioner. You cannot control the temperature, only the fan speed.
The hotel is very convenient to get to and out, close to lot of restaurants and shops. Staff is very friendly and speak English. As any Japanese would, they will go out of their way to accommodate you.

Hotel rate are bit higher, but not including Internet fee..AS make it very confusing if Hotel marked that at the room, or Hotel need to mention that (Excluding internet fee) . Also Mostly the room rate like that range Hotel all should including internet fee.
Beside they are unfair to charges, if You bring it 2-PC then they will charge you 2-times internet rate.??? (but there're in 1-room)

The hotel is at a great location of Shinjuku shopping area. It is located within the dining and shopping areas. The room is very clean and the space is adequete.
Only problem we had is that not many people knows the location of this hotel probably because it is relatively new. People at hard time to point it out even when you showed the hotel address. But once you got there, everything become easy.

Me and my boyfriend stayed 3 nights at this hotel. We were impressed with most things about this hotel. Nice and quiet, in a very good location close to everything and the rooms were comfortable. Things I think need improving - breakfast needs a bit more of a western touch and the pillows were very hard. Overall I would reccommend this place.

Location was perfect, close to Shinjuku station, but still on the quiet south side (with that said, Tokyo is suprisingly quiet all the time). Note that Google Maps did not get the location right, use the map on the hotel site.
The staff at the hotel spoke good english, the rooms were ok in size, always clean, but be sure to book a non-smoking room in berforehand if you want one. We did miss wifi in the room, but the lobby provided free wifi so we were ok.
Didn't try the breakfast, but there was a lot of coffeeshops around the block for cheap breakfast.
The hotel didn't provide concierge service, but at City Hall, about 5 blocks from the hotel, there's a great, free, observatory on the 45th floor. In the basemant of the same building there's a Turist Information Center that helped us with at trip to Mt. Fuji and Hakone.

It's a good hotel if you'll be doing a lot of footwork in akiba; you can become the akiba fiend from the hotel lol. When I was in the hotel I know the staff hauled effort to make everything work in your favor, so that's a plus. The maid service is trustworthy from experience of just leaving all my valuables in a mess. Rooms could be small for what an average joe might be used to but you're in Japan so I believe it's the culture. However, brush up on your japanese because the only ones that speak english was at the counter, and they knew just enough to get you acquainted. There was a dinner room on the 1st floor, but I always went out so I never tried it. Did I mention the hotel was immaculately clean?

I used to live in Japan for 10 years and went back for a 5-day visit. The moment I saw the room I was so shocked how small the room was! I immediately went back to the concierge for a room upgrade but the rooms were all booked at that time. I forgot how everything is so cramped up in Tokyo so I just stuck with it considering that my husband and I will be out the whole day anyway. There was literally no space for our luggage so we ended up placing our luggage on one of the beds and we slept on a single size bed for 5 days. The only reason I picked this hotel is the location. Very near the station and is very accessible to all the major train lines in Tokyo.
Don't choose this hotel if you are on a vacation especially on a honeymoon. My husband and I know our way around in Tokyo and this visit was to run errands and enjoy Tokyo and head back home.

Leider kein WLAN, weder im Zimmer noch in der Lobby, dafür aber LAN.

Just back from Tokyo. I stay at this hotel because the concierge Jerome is a real professional and makes my life easier. There are great restaurants in the hotel and location is excellent. Jr. Suites are great. Go and be pampered.

Very happy with our stay; our room was recently renovated, very chic and quiet, and even had a good view. We borrowed a humidifier which was nice as I find pretty much all hotels too dry. The location was great, close to pretty much everything. The complex next door has lots of good restaurants and even a grocery store on the first floor, very convenient. Parking was a bargain given the location at JPY1,000 per night. In-room dining was very tasty, though portions a bit small. Of special note was the in-room massage service. My wife had a massage first and thought it was so good she booked one for me with the same woman. 45mins, JPY5,500 or so. The masseuse was an elderly Japanese woman named Tanaka-san. I'm not sure where she got her strength, but she was incredibly powerful - as well as skillful. Really loosened up my back and neck. I thought our stay was a bargain, even given the strong yen.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The room was clean. Free internet via cable, but no wireless. Had currency exchange in basement and bus to airport right at the hotel. Subway was across the street. Many shops and restaurants close by. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past few years and I have always found its room prices are fair considering the central location. This time I booked a superior room with double bed, bath/shower and with free Internet. Storage & hanging space are limited so plan to keep items in your suitcase and a drawer safe, Very comfortable size for several days' stay. The hotel is so close to the Tokyo metro and department stores you are not limited to the hotel amenities - this time I was unwell and the outstanding customer service support really saved the day. Highly recommended..

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns bei allen kleineren und grösseren Problemen und Anfragen super weiter geholfen! Die Zimmer waren immer erstaunlich schnell gerichtet und immer in einem Top-Zustand. Wer das Zentrum Tokyos erkunden möchte ist hier gut aufgehoben. Die Speisen in den Restaurants waren köstlich und der Service allgemein echt unschlagbar. Wir konnten zu jeder Tages-/ Nachtzeit mit Fragen anrennen und immer hat man uns helfen können. Für uns war es ein super Aufenthalt im Hotel Niwa!

Just what I expected. Not a super bargain, but not out of line either. Very convenient to a JR subway line (which means your JR railpass covers it), although if coming in from Tokyo station, you do have to transfer at the second stop to catch a local train (to take you the one more stop). The Japanese breakfast is expensive, but no more so than at all similar hotels.

I like Dai Ichi Hotel Annex for its great location (near Ginza-Shimbashi sation). Hard to beat the price. Internet is free. Good rooms, great value for the money.

The Dai-Ichi Annex was very comfortable with a good-sized room and very friendly staff. Also, the location was very convenient, with only a short walk to the Yamanote line. One drawback was the lack of computers for internet access. However, the staff was very accomodating and I was able to use one of their computers in an emergency.

Good, modern and clean hotel in Shinjuku. First impression of the area was not great, but after wandering it's very local with little bars and restaurants - though not chic like other areas in Tokyo, fun and more authentic feeling. Staff were friendly though a little disorganised.

This is a perfectably fine Japanese business hotel, meaning small rooms and not luxurious in any way. I don't mind the small room (not large enough to leave your suitcase on the floor), but I would have liked enough space for a comfortable sitting chair. Again as usual,no English TV channels (CNN is dubbed in Japanese). As perhaps part of a recent trend, a free breakfast is offered but has nothing of what I really like in Japanese coffee shops, a cup of good strong coffee and extra thick buttered toast.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel is quiet, but quite near the subway.

We booked 2 rooms in this very comfortable & modern hotel for the start of our family's Japan trip.
The rooms were small but this is expected in Japan. It was clean and comfortable.
The rooms came with buffet breakfast which was great for us. There were free internet in the small but well laid out lobby, good for checking emails. The free coffee in the lobby is way better than those they served during breakfast.
The location though is not very convenient as this hotel sits on a hill, so depending on which subway exit you come out from, you either walk uphill or climb some steep stairs. It is not a very long walk, 5-7 mins perhaps but with kids and after a long day of sightseeing...
I will stay here again but minus the kids.

my spouse and I love this hotel. the only thing we dont like is that they only provide one card key. which is not convinent for us. the buffet breakfast is good, but a little bored after staying for 5 nights having the same stuff. It would be nice if they have odd days with diff menu than the even days rather everyday with the same menu. great hotel, would go back again.

As a family of 4 adults we found the hotel excellent. The rooms were thoughtfully designed to include everything you might need in a very neat way. The bathroom was compact but well designed with a modern jet shower. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful with storing our luggage on 4 occasions, The buffet breakfast was mainly Japanese style with a good selection of herbal teas. The decor was very funky and there was a useful laundry room with washer and dryer, the iron and board is available at reception on request. Handy for access to all areas of Tokyo and close to major station of Ikebukuro with Metro and JR lines.
