Starhotels Michelangelo Hotel Rome

I just returned from my stay in Rome at the Starhotel Michaelangelo. The room was a good size compared to most European hotels, and the staff on the whole were helpful. The hotel is a bit run down, and could use some updating, but the room was very clean. The breakfast was not good compared to most European breakfasts. The location was very good for visiting the Vatican, but I had to take many buses and taxis during my 3 day stay to visit other attractions. If I return to Rome, I would stay in a more Central location.

My niece and I thoroughly enjoyed stating at this hotel. Guisseppe was wonderful and so accommodating. I was surprised that we had to pay for internet service, but later I found out that it is quite common in Europe. The breakfast was very good. Location really couldn't be any better! The train station and St. Peter's Basilica were both a short walking distance. I would totally stay there again and recommend it to anyone going to Rome!

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Vatican Museum. It was in a good location and very comfortable. The staff was great and very helpful with their suggestions.

On the plus side--great location, good service, comfortable room, excellent breakfast buffett and very attentive, professional staff. The major negative is their wi-fi policy. Free for 30 minutes/day in the lobby. With a better wi-fi policy, this hotel would rate five stars..

The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Vatican entrance, and very convenient. One block from the local bus stops was helpful, as well. Although not told this, there was a free breakfast buffet included, and the restaurant staff was very warm and eager to assist. The only down side to our 8-day stay was the poor insulation from other rooms. We could practically hear conversations next door, and the upstairs child bouncing his ball was a bit agravating. Desk staff were very helpful with any question and/or assistance.

The rooms were great, roomy, clean and quiet. The staff very helpful, knew which bus or metro to take, very pleasant and spoke English. Nice breakfast included with good times.

Close to St. Peter's and the Vatican. Easy access to bus route and shops. Hotel very clean, well maintained. Good breakfast choices. Staff helpful. No problems. Would stay at the Starhotels Michelangelo Hotel Rome again!

[...] at the front desk was wonderful.Very pleasant and helpful, went out of his way to make stay pleasant, provide directions, and generally, just a smiling happy helpful fellow. The other staff was a lot less helpful, the staff at the rooftop bar was rude and one waiter actually sat with people at the next table and would not get up to wait on me. i had to go over to him to ask for a cup of coffee. I realize that service is different in Italy, but that bar/cafe had the worst service that I had during my entire stay in Italy. The younger man that worked at the bar was more pleasant but less than attentive as well. I would recommend the hotel, but not the rooftop pool/bar area that their website touts as some great area to relax. The room was tiny but clean. Internet, movies and the restaurant were very expensive, I didn't even eat there, [...] was able to recommend some great spots to find on foot and I found some great little cafes for about a third of the price of the restaurant.

Very nice hotel,the staff was very helpful,I would recommend it to others. Very close to the Vatican,many Cafes to eat from,a market about five minute walk and the bus depot was a 3 minute walk.The hotel did not provide an Iron and ironing board for the room, that is a negative. I thought the price was good and if my wife liked the room,that says a lot, because she's a stickler for clean anything.
