Gambrinus Hotel Rome

Accueil féminin parfait, réceptionnistes du matin pourraient dire bonjour, petit déjeuner personnel et qualité parfaits, chambre bien, un peu de difficultés pour obtenir de l'eau chaude pour la douche. Ensemble séjour agréable, à recommander.

This hotel was rated as a 4 star hotel by another travel website [...] in 2005, according to the sign behind the desk. Our rooms were adequate, but nothing special, and certainly not immaculate. Staff was helpful, especially at breakfast and in figuring out transportation. Breakfast was typical for a Rome hotel - not quite the same as the picture shown on the website, but adequate. Located about a 5 minute walk from bus stops, 12 minutes from train station. This is probably a typical 3 star hotel.

they let us stay in our rooms till mid-day with no extra charge. The reception staff were helpful and couldnt have been better

We stayed at the hotel for our first trip to Rome. Not a bad location, with the Roma Pass we were able to take the bus from out front or the Metro (a few blocks away) to all of the historical sites. It is a nicely remodeled older hotel with small quaint rooms, staff is friendly and breakfast was always very good. Windows kept out most all the noise (inner city location) but the A/C was hard pressed to keep up, even on cooler days. Rooms were clean and nicely kept. It is far enough from the historical sites to have nice restaurants and shopping close by and close enough that you can see everything with a short ride on the Metro or bus.

The hotel is ok but it is definitely not a four-star hotel. Negative aspects: The room and bathroom was ok (clean and comfortable), but the shower was way too small. Plus, if you used hot water in the shower there was almost no water pressure at all. Also, the internet never worked. We tried both their computers and our laptop and we were never able to go online. Positive aspects: Breakfast buffet was varied and all the food was good. The location was not bad.

Good service, good location , easy access...

Small room is an understatement. Had an enclosed shower, though, which I here is uncommon. Breakfast in the basement was below average.

Hotel Gambrinus is located in a nice location that is fairly close to the train station plus sightseeing activities like the Spanish Steps. While the rooms were nice, they had no internet access in the rooms and one business center computer that was not available (per hotel policy) from 6AM-11Am which was strange. The service was fine but the breakfast buffet food was lacking the overall selection of other hotels we stayed at in Italy.
