Des Artistes Hotel Rome

Wir haben das Hotel als Ausgangspunkt für unsere "Romerkundung" gewählt und dafür war es optimal. Bei unserer Ankunft waren wir zwar etwas geschockt, da uns ein typisch italienisches Treppenhaus empfing. Es hing ein verdreckter Spiegel dort und auch der Aufzug muss als historisch bezeichnet werden. Die Rezeption befand sich im 5. Stock.... Unser Zimmer befand sich im Nachbarhaus. Es war völlig in Ordnung. Es wurde täglich gründlich gereinigt und wir bekamen täglich frische Handtücher. Trotz der ausgezeichneten Lage in der Nähe das Bahnhofs war es zudem sehr ruhig, da es nicht zur Straßenseite gelegen war. Einziger Nachteil: In unmittelbarer Nähe befindet sich ein Ristorante und wenn man das Fenster nicht schloss hatte man den Küchengeruch im Zimmer, da die Abluft offenbar in den Hinterhof geleitet wurde. Aber auch das war weniger schlimm; denn wenn man das Fenster früh geschlossen hatte und erst am späten Abend zurück kam, konnte man das Fenster ohne störende Gerüche öffnen und gut lüften. Unsere Freunde, die ein Zimmer nebenan hatten, hatten dieses Problem übrigens nicht. Insofern hatten wir wohl einfach ein etwas ungünsigeres - aber größeres - Zimmer erwischt. Das Frühstück war für italienische Verhältnisse ausgezeichnet. Es gab ein Buffet und es gab guten Kaffe, Gebäck, Semmeln, Marmelade, Müsli, Säfte, Wurst etc. Fazit: Wir würden wieder das Hotel wählen. Unsere Ansprüche waren allerdings auch nicht so hoch, da wir die Stadt erkunden wollten und das Hotel nur als Schlafplatz angesehen haben. Einen Wellness-Urlaub würde ich dort nicht verbringen.... Aber dafür müsste man ja auch ein paar Euro mehr in die Hand nehmen... Ich kann das Hotel in jeder Hinsicht weiter empfehlen, wenn man Rom erkunden will und das Hotel nur als Schlafplatz betrachtet. Die Lage ist wirklich ideal!

Hôtel sympa, situé à 5 mn à pied de la gare de Termini. Chambre petite mais propre par contre mal insonorisée.

L'Hotel des artistes est idéalement situé, à 5 mn à pieds de la Gare Termini et à 2 mn du métro. Il est entouré de nombreux petits restaurants. Le petit déjeuner proposé est parfait, toutes les boissons, de la nouriture très variées sucrée ou salée. Les chambres sont correctes bien que sombres (chambre donnant sur une cour intérieure). attention l'insonnorisation est quasi nulle.

Hotel was very close to the metro so easy to get around. It had a questionable luggage storage on the ground floor which was not watched too vigilantly. Our room, on the 1st floor, was fine for one night. Except DO NOT open the closet, it smelled of rotten feet, leaving a lingering odor the entire night. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the central train station (5 blocks away), nice if traveling by train (also a bus from the airport will drop you off here) but you will need to travel to get to the tourist attractions.

this hotel is wonderful....both location and rooms staff was great....will go back again when in Rome

Location was good, and the staff was extremely helpful, room was clean, however the bed WAS SOOOO HARD, EXTRA FIRM, might as well slept on the tile floor. We woke up stiff and sore every morning.

We ended up staying in the building next door and was told that it's nicer because it's newer. Well, I didn't get to see the rooms in the "main" building (reception is on 5th floor and shares the building with some other hotels) to compare. Our room was very plain and ordinary looking so I fear how the rooms in the "main" building are. Plus side: our double room was fairly roomy and quiet. The double bed was made up of two twin beds put together and a little hard (standard). Shower was small but fine. The neighborhood is just ok....safe when we walked around although it did look a bit shady. We thought it was close to the Termini Stazione, but the hotel was several blocks farther than expected. Although our rate included breakfast, we couldn't take advantage of that because we had to check out early (6:15 am). We weren't able to get any breakfast to go because the kitchen wasn't even open. Overall, we felt the price Des Artistes charges don't match the value they deliver (it's overpriced). We felt as if we were mixed in with their hostel side.

The hotel had a great location. Only a 5min walk from the Metro. Lots of dinning close by and even a little market right around the corner. I would recomend this hotel to all of my friends.

Hotel is, as stated, just a few minutes' walk from Termini. Also close to subway stations, though those who like to walk won't have too much trouble getting around the city. The setup is a little strange, as reception and the breakfast room are in one building, and the lodging in another a little further down the street, but once you have that straight, it's not an issue. The room was very nice and clean (though it isn't as picturesque as displayed on the site), with air conditioning and a TV. They even had a wall outlet for American products to plug into! The bathroom was the best part though. Extremely clean and modern, very nice shower. My only complaint in regards to the room was the bed. It was stiff and uncomfortable. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay, giving us directions and helping arrange for a taxi our final morning. The only annoying thing was housekeeping's tendency to rearrange our stuff.
