- Florence is a city to visit on foot and the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi is certainly the ideal place to start from for a truly satisfying visit. The hotel is located on the right bank of the Arno river, between Santa Croce and Piazzale Michelangelo, a short distance from the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio, the Cathedral, the Accademia and the main Florence railroad station of Santa Maria Novella. The hotel has its own garage (for a charge), and is easy to reach by car.

Plaza Lucchesi
The hotel was very charming though not as large as a it appeared from the web information. This was a bonus. The staff was courteous and helpful, but perhaps a little cold. Room was well appointed and included a flat screen TV and an "American" sized bathroom. The included breakfast had everything and was very good. Within walking distance of everything if you're prepared to walk 10-25min.

Great Location
I enjoyed this hotel first for its location. It is next to the river a great view as you exit the hotel. The staff was friendly. They were reserved and professional. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The hotel is not new so walls or roofs may seem antiques but makes it part of the experience. I think I got my money's worth.

Great value
This is a lovely, quiet hotel within walking distance of most of the sights of Florence. The staff was extremely accomodating and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Gracious, warm, helpful & charming
Although well worn and slightly dated, in my opnion the Lucchesi is kept clean and well maintained.Our room overlooked the Arno River, at the Ponte alle Grazie (one of the many bridges that cross the Arno river). The view and the hotel's location help make up for it's physical short comings. I would not have enjoyed the stay had I been in a room without the view. The large room was comfortable and clean but lacked the ammenites of a truly fine hotel. A complimentary buffet breakfast in the hotel dining room was included. At the time of our stay the free wi-fi was very slow and had very little range inside the hotel, making it barely useable and frustrating. The Hotel's location makes for easy walking to most of the city's sights and some fantatic restaurants. The Hotel's staff is exceptional!! Courteous, warm, helpful and friendly. The concierge staff was fantastic, both [...] went above and beyond! [...] at the front desk was a gem!

Short walk from hotel
Ristorante del Fagioli, Corso Tintori,47. Fantastic old world traditional Tuscan food. Family owned and operated (papa in the kitchen and the son's and daughter in the dining room.) exceptional experience, mostly Italians few tourists. Oibo near Santa Croce, the best place for Aperitivo.

Plaza Hotel Lucchesi
It was our first experience in Italy and Plaza Hotel Lucchesi provided us with a superb expierence! The staff was available at all times during the day to help us with traveling tips and they even cancelled a car rental for us! In addition, they provide a full buffet breakfast that satisfied every member of my family, including my twelve year old daughter! I highly recommend this hotel!

We traveled with children and Plaza Hotel Lucchesi provided a full buffet breakfast in where the variety such as fruits, breads, eggs, sussages, bacon, cereal, juices... lasted us until dinner time which saved us a lot!
