Hotel David

One of the best stays we've ever had. Chiara, Sabina, Michael, the young man that made delicious cappuccinos were warm, helpful and friendly. Wonderful breakfasts, well-maintained and immaculate hotel, lovely complimentary evening happy hour served in lovely garden, free Internet, wifi and daily call home, beautiful room and new beautiful bathroom with wonderful shower, quiet, very good local restaurants nearby. Only possible downside is the 15-20 walk to the center of town, but all of the above and the fact that many buses stop almost right in front made up for it. Also, the walk is along the river so it is pleasant if the weather isn't too hot and being away from the crowds in the heart of the city is a plus.

Hotel David is a beautifully decorated hotel that looks like an elegant mansion with antique furnishings and high ceilings, tasteful touches, a great breakfast, wonderful happy hour featuring all you can eat oer deuvres, and other great features. The only downside is the traffic noise, but a room in the back may not have this problem. Also, the walls of our room seemed pretty thin as we could hear the conversation of the people in the next room. For service and comfort, this hotel is super.

The Hotel David was superb. The rooms were serene, and I felt safe and cared for in every way. The staff went out of their way to give my husband and I this place called Florence, Italy on a platter. The staff was attentive and the bountiful amenities were appreciated-the breakfast buffet divine! I felt that Michele, Chiara, Martine, and Stephania were family friends who cared for me from the time we drove into the secret garden private parking area, until the time they had to pry the tiny espresso cup from my fingers so I could make my flight in time. Truthfully, my only regret was that the weather did not alow me the opportunity to ride in the "Pope Car"-the new Hotel David white three-wheeled ape. I shall regret that one for quite a while, but this wil be the first in a long list of incintives to return to see more of Italy. I did love this hotel and found it a refreshingly complete lodging.
