Nice hotel to stay in at good price
We arrived a few hours before the normal check in time but they checked us in and we were given a room at the back of the hotel....good until late at night when the TGV overnight trains leave! We asked to have a room at the front of the hotel, the street side and it was perfectly quiet. The staff was very helpful, we had a nice clean room (with a pull out bed for our daughter) The free coffee and croissants were nice in the morning, Paris is very expensive for everything so we appreciated the perks. The train station was super close! Just out the back door across the alley! Good hotel if you are taking trains to other parts of France from Montparnasse as we were.

Nicey, roomy hotel by EU standards
Nicely located in a business district; walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and surrounding attractions. We arrived early and well our room wasn't ready, the staff didn't bat an eye at storing our luggage while we wandered the city for breakfast. With two small children, we found our double room had plenty of space - the pullout couch divided in half so the entire room was not covered in bed when we pulled out only half. Clean, nice bathroom with big tub for the kids. Good overall.

Portions in the surrounding restaurants are good sized - with two small children (2 and 4), we over ordered every time. Buy for children to share.

Far Behind Montparnasse Station
Montparnasse station is huge and this Novotel is not as close as it seems. It is at the very back of the station on avenue Pasteur, a good 10-15 min walk to the tower and the main plaza. Decent hotel, nothing bad, nothing great.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was a bit off the beaten track of downtown so it was quiet and cheaper than the hotels closer to the river. The hotel caters to children with a special breakfast with entertainment. Wifi was free and the metro station was just a 5 minute walk (600 meters on safe streets).

Skip the hotel breakfast and hit the little Patisserie (bakery) near the Pasteur metro station. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Perfect for families with kids on a budget
This is a great hotel for what it offers. The rooms are comfy and have everything you might need and the hotel is perfectly located steps away from Montparnasse station. The breakfast is delicious and good enough to get you ready for the day. We will definitely come back!

Long walk from hotel
You can take a nice hour-long walk to the Eiffel Tower. Once there, take the stairs instead of the elevator. The lines for the elevator are usually longer--waiting in line is more exhausting than taking the stairs!--and taking the stairs up the second floor of the tower is a lot of fun--and less expensive!

Good value for money
We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights with a baby (got a babycot), it was great. 5 minutes walk from Pasteur / Montparnasse metro stations.

River Dad
Good value
Quiet, non-touristy section of Paris. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast is a real steal at 16 Euros as kids eat free. Free wireless internet. Train station is right next door, you can roll your bags from the rear entrance of the hotel to the SNCF railroad platform in 1 minute. Metro stop at Montparnasse station is a 5 minute walk away, all under cover.
