LOUVRE MONTPENSIER

The location doesn't get any better than this. Only two blocks from the Louvre and close to many great restaurants and pattiseries. Hotel is not a luxury hotel by any means bur rooms are clean and they have a real Parisian feel. Other hotels in the area are $300-$600 per night but the Montpensier is $120-$180 per night. You simply can't beat the price.

This hotel is in a great location and affordable when compared to others in the area however it is in need of some basic updates. Although the rooms were basically clean, the hallways and some common areas were not. The rooms were disappointing and in need of simple renovations. Rugs, bedspreads, and drapes need to be replaced. The rooms were not represented appropriately on the website. It did not appear that there was any air-conditioning-so a summer stay would be uncomfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. This is a fair choice for people on a budget who want to be in this area.

I chose this hotel thinking it was one that I had stayed at before. On arrival after seeing the lobby and my room I checked out and located another hotel near by. The best description I can give is that if I was 20 years old and traveling with a backpack, it would be the perfect hotel. There is nothing wrong with the hotel if all you are looking for is a bed in a fairly clean room and a very low price for the area. The desk staff was cordial and understanding when I checked out. I paid for 1 night as a penalty.

The location of this hotel is amazing and close to everything you need to have an amazing stay in Paris. The standard of the hotel however is only a 2 star standard, not the 3 stars advertised. The rooms are clean, but the other services of the hotel are very limited. the price for the location though can't be beat in Paris
