Clean, quiet, compact - good location.
We arrived around 2pm and the room wasn't clean, so we popped out for a bit - when we returned it was ready. Very tidy, and the beds were comfortable which was welcome. During our stay, the room was always cleaned to a high standard. No complaints in that regard. The room was modern but small: but we weren't planning on playing Twister so that wasn't a problem. The bathroom had a shower and sink, and it was all nice and clean. The temperature of the room was fine (in April), and I was quite pleasantly surprised about how quiet it was in the evening. At no point was I woken due to noise. The free wireless internet was a little spotty, but more than adequate for emails. If it were any better, I might have been tempted to work, so that's not a bad thing. The TV showed only French stations, which is not a complaint :-) Breakfast was a help-yourself-buffet: basic but fine. I ate too many croissants and madelines daily, but walking around Paris made up for it. The staff spoke enough English and were kind enough to understand my poor French, so communication wasn't a problem. There was good storage facilities for cases for when you check out and need to wait until your lift to the airport. Overall, we found the location just right (a short walk to Notre Dame and Metro stations, or along Blvd Saint Germain to the shops and cafes), and I consider it good value. Once it gets dark, walk up the road to the Pantheon, and you'll see the Eiffel Tower - plan it just right, and you'll get there on the hour and see it twinkling. My daughter was delighted. I'd definitely consider going back there again.

Shopping tips:
Short walk from hotel
If you walk down to Blvd Saint Germain, and head one block west there is an excellent book/comic shop with lots of little designer knick-knacks. In fact, there are lots of shops around here with Things for Nerds. It's a great neighborhood to explore, and if you have teens they won't be sighing in exasperation and boredom - they'll be too busy spending your money.

Ideally located on a quiet street
Ideally located on a quiet street just off the boulevard Saint-Germain, this is a nice hotel with small rooms, but friendly staff. Its only drawback is its noisiness - the walls and floors seem to be made of paper. During my one-night stay, I was housed on a floor with adolescents fully enjoying their trip to Paris. Summarizing the experience: bring earplugs before checking in here.

cramped room in a verty good location. For what you pay, it is probably as good as anything else in the neighbourhood
