BEST WESTERN Paris Louvre Opera

Money stolen from hotel room safe. Wedding Anniversary Ruined. This was our first wedding anniversary and we chose to do it in the most romantic city, Paris. The hotel its self was what we expected from a central Paris location, small but comfortable. One the morning our our checkout I opened the room safe, started removing our travel documents, passports, camera and money, everything was there apart for the money, the amount of 300 euro was gone. We searched the entire room without joy, I then went to the the front desk to inform them of what had happened, being surprised that someone could get into the safe undetected I informed the lady at the front desk that I had forgotten the code and if she could retrieve the combination to gain access, she responded by saying it was not impossible and they would have to call someone. I then admitted this was not the case and I wanted to know if this was possible as money had been stolen from the safe, to my amazement she changed her story to say the safe was totally secure and not accessible to anyone. She claimed to have misunderstood what I was asking. The result of all this was being left with no cash and as our credit and debit cards where also in the safe and possible compromised we had to cancel these immediately. Leaving us in a foreign country with no currency. We have been emailing the hotel manager for the past 4 months who initially said this was a insurance matter, he has now responded by saying the insurer needs proof the money was in the safe for the claim to be made, which of course is impossible for us to provide. Throughout the past 4 months the manager at the hotel has acted in the most unprofessional and inconsiderate manner. This entire experience left us feeling helpless and cheated, it was to be a celebration or our fist wedding anniversary, sadly it was everything but. This is one review you can not afford to ignore.

Very nice, clean hotel in a great location near the Opera and Louvre, and very close to Pyramides metro station. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The only drawback for me was when I asked for blankets rather than a duvet/quilt on my bed, they were unable to provide even one single blanket. The result was that I had a terrible night's sleep, compounded by what was for me an over-hard mattress. Despite its many advantages, I will unforunately not be using this hotel again.

stayed 3 nights.went to heineken cup final.metro 1 min walk, two stops from gard nord. lourve 10 min walk. le opera 10 min.batobus on river seine 10 min.restaurants, usual tourist menues not the best.some frendly local bars large beer 4e,good value for paris normaly 6:8e. we did not eat at the hotel and on checkout paid 60e less than quoted by [...].so finaly,a good hotel as a base to see the sights. not a good area for dining, maybe we were just unluckey.

Très bon emplacement (entre Louvre et Opéra), hôtel correct mais sans plus et un décevant par rapport à l'idée que l'on peut s'en faire sur internet.

Décoration très sophitiquée et chambre vraiment orginale. Très calme, en dehors d'un léger grondement au démarrage du métro.
