Iberostar Costa Dorada All Inclusive

This was our second family vacation we took with our son (18 months old) off of the mainland and our first family vacation at al all-inclusive. Iberostar was exactly what my family was looking for: wonderful environment, great weather, fantastic food, friendly staff, and a lively environment. What makes Iberostar so great, besides the food at the main buffet El Mercado (why would anyone want to eat at a specialty restaurant when the buffet offers all you can eat lobster that is grilled right in front of you?!?!), is their ability to cater to such a wide range of people and interests effortlessly. Although it's a family-friendly resort, you never felt like you were at a kiddie park. The staff at the mini clubs kept the young children occupied throughout the day and up to 8/ 8:30pm, the teenagers and young adults could take part in various organized fun activities in the afternoon along a section of the beach or in a predesignated area in the pool, and the courtyard at night featured the live band, complete with singing and dancing which was fantastic. And every evening there was a show put on by the staff at the main stage. Truly, everything was great. The only drawback for the hotel was the beach. It is located on the Atlantic Ocean, therefore prone to seaweed. While we were there the seaweed was particularly bad from the shore until 10-15 feet into the water. Not much that can be done about that as it's the plot of land the hotel is located on. However, that is the ONLY downside the prevents this hotel from receiving more than 4 stars in my opinion. If you're not bothered by seaweed or don't mind not dipping in the ocean, don't hesitate to book!

We really liked this hotel, but prefer a more adult setting. Though they offer plenty of activities to occupy your kids.It was just that in the evening, they seemed to be underfoot everywhere. The entire staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They went out of their way to change our room from "pool front" to "beach front" on our second day (we stayed for three weeks). The hotel caters to a lot of foreigners and we meet met some wonderful people from Scotland. They offer a great beach and the beach bar is a great place to relax after a day in the sun, however, we would have liked it if they didn't close the beach bar at 6:00 pm (it's a great place to watch the sun set). Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel (we kind of like the Punta Cana area at little better though).

I had a great experience in this resort. There are many activities for children as for adults. The nightly shows were fantastic and my children will never forget being a part of the resort's production of The Lion King! The entertainment team is so friendly and try their best to make everyone comfortable and to show them a good time! I even had the courage to get up in front of the whole resort and sing karaoke! We had a blast and look forward to going back to this resort next year!

Overall, this was my sixth trip to the resort. The service, the grounds,and the food are always very good. This was however, my first trip alone. I have to say I was nervous, but I felt very safe. It was a wonderful opportunity to pamper myself and to unwind.

I took in a spa treatment- a deep tissue massage - highly recommended. I also did the buggy off road excursion from Dominick Tours. I would not recommend. Although the host was fun and entertaining, the tour was too short, we stopped too many times and some of the off road buggy experienced frequent mechanical breakdown. One guy had his buggy broke down 3 times, and then it was switched for another which also broke down. The hotel itself was pleasant, clean, the rooms were adequate. DOnt expect anything fancy or ostentatious. It was tidy and clean. Staff came in an tidied up daily. Pleasant and courteous staff. Dining facility was a pleasure - the food was very good and the variety was more than adequate. The surrounding decor was pleasant and comfortable. Drinks were very good.Big pool area to lounge around if you choose not to go to the beach The beach itself was average - so says my GF who spent time on beaches in Punta Cana, Cancun, Jamaica, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Compared to these places Puerto Plata beach was just average. I also have to agree with her. Nonetheless, if you get a great package deal for IberoStar Resort, it is well worth it.

My boyfriend and I recently returned from a wonderful and relaxing escape to the Iberostar resort in Puerto Plata. The resort is perfect for a short getaway! We didn't go on the day excursions, but definitely would have if we were there longer. Whether by the pool or beach, the grounds were clean with plenty of space to lounge. We loved the animal sitings on site including flamingos, peacock, and turtles. The staff was incredibly friendly - we especially appreciated Safir's hospitality at the buffet. The entertainment staff that ran the daytime and evening activities were all very energetic! Many lodgers were found socializing in the hotel lobby bar before and after the evening show. For an all-inclusive, there were plenty of servers offering speedy drink service. The buffet was okay, but could get tiresome. However, highlights included the elephant ears and fresh mango. We also enjoyed the variety of meat entrees at the Brazilian restaurant and serenaders who sang to each table at the Mexican restaurant.

Stayed here for five days, it was beautiful, almost everything was perfect. The pool, the beach, the location, the food, the staff will was so amazing you will want to return. We were a little disappointed in the junior suites, its not much different from a standard room, just a bigger balcony.

I was extremely happy with the overall experience. Everyone from the people at reception to the groundsmen were wonderful. The restaurant staff were very friendly especially at El Mercado. The entertainment staff was great. Really loved Broadway Cafe and Las Vegas nights. My only drawback with the trip was that I wanted to experience more of the everyday life of the people but the trip was too short and the tour didnt really do that. The good thing is that I made friends so on my next visit I should be able to. I met many returning guests also. Definitely will go back.

The hotel was in a good location. The club Pure (casino is next to Pure) was where it was at and is walking distance from the hotel. The staff was awesome and everyone around the hotel was just as helpful. The resort is very strict on guest. The food during the week is TERRIBLE, but on the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) is not as terrible. Also, this hotel is a family hotel so for a single guy I would check alternatives. There is no free internet and the phones in the room work when they want.

i stayed for a week, overall was pretty good, my only problem was that the hotel don't have regular electric outlet in the room, if you need to charge your computer, phone, or just to connect anything else you need to buy an adapter otherwise you won't. while i was there i ate at the same restaurant, i didn't want to go to try a different one because the food was just amazing.the place is beautiful, you won't regret it. I'm planning to come back.
